We really enjoyed our tour of Ft Sumpter last spring. The tour guides were engaging and we learned a lot, they also gave plenty of time to explore on our own. If we had any questions the guide was readily available and gave us hints of where to look on the fort. Be sure to look out for dolphin when waiting for the ferry in your way out!

I highly recommend this visit to all who visit Charleston. The guided tour to the Dungeon (included in the $15 admission fee) is very informative and must do. 30 minutes tour.

This is a beautiful historic museum house looking over the harbor on the battery. We had a fantastic guide informing us on so many interesting facts and stories about this house and the part it played in the Civil War. It is definitely a Charleston gem and a must visit if you love touring historic homes.

A very interesting and thought provoking museum which highlighted the awfulness of the slave trade and put context into the history of the building. Certainly worth a visit.

George Washington stay at this home during his visit to Charleston. Original home for the most part with furniture from that time period. We saw the first two floors plus the facilities in the back yard. Much history in this home.

Beautifully laid out and maintained neo classic building in historic Charleston. The collection, focused on Charleston,
contains a number of masterpieces of American art - by Powers, Sully, and West, among others. Amazing miniatures. Very thoughtful captions which place the works in artistic and historical context.
Good museum shop and informed helpful staff. Deserves two hours.

Extremely well done. We planned on a few hours but were there much longer. It was moving, factual and informative. Well worth you time. Lot's to read so it takes a while but worth ever minute.

Our grandchildren, 3 and 5, had so much fun at the museum that they cried when we had to leave after two hours. Everything is set up for younger children to explore safely, including real tools, a grocery store, and a pirate ship. Parents can just stand back and watch the kids have the time of their lives.

Tiny but fun museum to stop by if you are in the area. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, exhibitions were focus on the topic with details, good to touch on the cannon tools. Only need about half an hour.

Very beautiful, very themed, very peaceful, very free! Loved walking through and looking at art unlike anything you can see in bigger art museums and galleries. Would totally recommend especially considering it’s convenient location.

this gallery has serious and fun paintings. We bought a fun one today since i’ve had my eye on these funky birds by Kevin LaPrince for a while now.
