Charleston Farmers Market
#1 of 97 Shopping in Charleston
My family loves strolling through the food and veggie vendors, grabbing some good food, and shopping the arts and crafts stalls.
This is a great chance to contribute to the local economy and find something truly unique to bring him as a souvenir if you are a traveler or a great way to shop for fresh fruits and veggies if you're a local.

Unlike most of the 'galleries' (read: tourist shops) in Charleston, this one features works that are not defined by the cuteness of the city.

I sampled a couple of teas and some snacks while they shopped.
We were greeted immediately by a friendly guy who explained the layout of the shop, pointed out the samples available for tasting and offered to assist in any way we might need.

It is a tiny space to be sure, and would quickly become cramped if there were many customers in there, but while we were shopping the foot traffic was light, and the service attentive and warm.
We are a big fan of GSC so we were thrilled with the new shop cum wine bar casual dining spot- large airy space with a cool vibe!

They have a lovely little courtyard behind the shop if it is cool enough outside or a seating area upstairs that is air conditioned.

You can sample nearly every thing in the shop and every one was more unique than the first -- we wound up with a few vinegars, and had a hard time narrowing the choices.
We happened upon this little shop heading back to our hotel and will definitely return during future trips!
