I was referred to the city market since I could only find one place on king street with postcards and magnets. City market is local vendors’ stalls selling their products including sweet treats, artwork, and more. I found a few postcards, but then found some nice magnets near the oyster bar on meeting street. I’d highly suggest meeting street instead of this busy area.

Very beautiful, very themed, very peaceful, very free! Loved walking through and looking at art unlike anything you can see in bigger art museums and galleries. Would totally recommend especially considering it’s convenient location.

While on vacation, we went to both locations of LePrince Fine Art and found a painting that we love by one of their stable of artists Gary Bradley. It just arrived today to our home in perfect condition. Our experience at the gallery was very good, Laura helped us with the purchase, and the shipping happened just as was promised. They have a wide variety of original artworks in various mediums to choose from. I highly recommend visiting their galleries when in Charleston.

Meyer Vogl Gallery is the best fine art gallery I’ve ever visited. The energy is wonderful and you instantly feel at ease when you walk through the doors. The art is as wonderful as the staff. They are kind and so helpful, whether it’s finding the perfect painting or sharing their favorite recs for lunch in town. 10/10 recommend a visit during your next trip to Charleston.

We took a Lyft out here on a rainy day. 20 minutes drive from the Charleston historic district. Lots of fun things to see. Reasonably priced. Nice selection of silver. Ladies at desk are very helpful. Highly recommend.

The Chalmers Street cobblestone area is a throwback to the 1800s when horse and carriages traveled on these rocky roads. Chalmers Street is in the French quarter and historic homes line the street.

    A beautiful clean cool gallery

    An artists coop gallery

As my usual, I was pulled into the jewelry. Many diverse rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. I bought a gorgeous crazy lace agate ring.
I enjoyed browsing the sweet grass baskets, ceramics/pottery, scarves, accessories, wooden objects, and more.
The staff person was friendly and helpful.
Walking just a few minutes from the DASH bus made it convenient.

A lovely shop of Charleston and Low Country items operated to support the Historic Charleston Foundation. The best book selection we found in the area related to Charleston and southern life. Profits support the preservation efforts of the foundation and purchases are exempt from the 11% tax. Hard to believe this lovely spot was a former gas station.

Park at a meter on Calhoun and check out the Halsey, which is free to the public and has rotating exhibitions throughout the year If possible check out their opening nights (6:30-8:00) which are $5 for non-members with an open bar. Artists often provide a talk the next day. The student galleries are also fun to stroll through...you never know where talent will rise to the surface!

Nice and well displayed mix of antiques. Owner John was very helpful and pleasant in arranging shipment of footstool and coffee table to California. Highly recommended.

I did not purchase anything when I stopped by but my flight was very delayed so instead of waiting at the airport I wandering around Charleston for a few hours and checked out most of the King Street stores. This one was one of the more unique stores. It may have the perfect item or nothing that interests you at all. I would try and put a label on the kind of store, but I cannot think of a word besides eclectic. It is a not a required out of the way sort of place, but it is a nice non-chain store with a staff that takes pride in their looks.
