My friends and I have been going to Forte Jazz Lounge for 4 years and every visit is a wonderful experience. We have watched the venue grow and evolve from the very first few paintings of jazz artists and instruments on the walls to more comfortable seating, obtaining the liquor license and now serving food. The best thing, however, is the wonderful evening of entertainment. It is a fairly small venue, so it feels very intimate, and in most cases, there are 2 shows nightly. If you live outside of the peninsula (like me) you can chose the 7pm show and still make it back across the bridge by 9:30. The 9:30 show is over by 11:30, so a great way to spend an evening. I highly recommend a visit to see Joe Clark and his amazing team of artists. You won't be disappointed.

This was my second time booking with Charleston Culinary Tours and a pleasant surprise to have the same guide John! My girlfriend and I booked the Upper King Tour and had such a good time. John is an incredible host, so fun and knowledgeable. The restaurant selections and food were fantastic!

It's been over a year since was in Charleston, we were staying almost across the street so a visit to The Griffen was in order.

Still the same inside a 'planned'?? messy?

dollar bills all over everything walls ad ceiling.

Small place, but still busy. Go on off hours if want to get in.

Food is different than most in the area. Yes, they have Fish and Chips, but they also have a Hot Dog.
Besides being casual the food is just plain better then most in the area..without being different with extra or unusual seasonings....Theirs is different because it's simpler and better.

Yes here is a bar and they have a selection of beer.
Prices are very reasonable....We considered ordering takeout and eating where we were staying....

We enjoyed Barsa very much. All dishes we ordered were delicious and prepared well. It is very tempting to order too much food so we paced things out to make sure that we did not order more than we could eat. Our server was excellent and incredibly friendly. She made the evening very relaxing and fun.

We loved our distillery/brewery tour. Alex was the perfect tour guide. He was patient, funny and entertaining. He made us truly feel like we were his only tour group. He threw in a balanced amount of history, fun facts and humor to make the experience unforgettable. When we return, we will ask for Alex!

We had the cheeseburger egg rolls which were delicious and the chicken sandwich which was also delicious but the chicken fillet was a bit small and it came with plenty of fries, an over all great meal.

We had a great time on this tour. When we have done similar tours in the past, we were basically dropped off and picked up. Coby actually stays with you, picks the beers out for you, and teaches you the history and background of the style of beer you are sipping on. It is a full experience and Coby had such interesting stories. We all enjoyed it and would recommend it.

We popped in after walking around Charleston. Bartender was friendly and engaging . Expresso martinis were great and made with fresh egg white.

Came here to kill time before a reservation. Fun atmosphere, seems to be filled with locals. Beer was good and reasonably priced. Fun games like big Jenga available too.

Ignoring the inattentive waitstaff and the unimaginative tasting entree, be sure to get a bowl of the ‘She-Crab’ soup.

The soup is rich in flavor, full of crab and flavorful on one’s palette. It is one of the best renditions of the “Lowcountry” soup that I have had in Charleston.

Royal American is a gem! Great food, drinks and atmosphere! The staff is amazing. Ask for Chapa or Darby.....and if you are lucky, the cutest dog in the world (maybe even wearing her pearls) will be there. Her name is Tater Swift

Super fun hole in the wall- beer, wine, and small snacks. We hung out here while we waited for a table at a nearby restaurant.

Service from Vivian was top notch!! We had a great time. Very relaxing and fun environment.

We lucked out when my husband booked a ghost tour with Adam. We have taken many ghost tours in the US and Adam is definitely the BEST!!
There’s nothing hokey or cheesy about Adam’s tour. He’s a history buff and he brings a bit of background history into his tours. Not as a history lesson- but so you get an accurate account of where some of Charleston’s ghosts come from, and why they haunt where they do. I haven’t even looked at the pictures on my phone yet to see if I got any orbs, because I wanted to come right back to the hotel and write this review. We had a blast and learned so much. I definitely feel the presence of spirits, and Adam’s graveyard segment had me on my toes!
You will not be disappointed, and you won’t feel like you just wasted your money on some grade school level ghost hunt. We are checking out the haunted places Adam mentioned tonight on our day tomorrow. Don’t bother booking with a big ghost-tour company. Book with a real expert! He almost became a spirit himself! Truth.
    Adam is the real deal!!
