- Terry TFlorida143 contributionsWe attended three games of a six game series featuring the Reading Fightin Phil’s AA minor league baseball team. The facility is older but we’ll maintained. There is a new event center in the outfield that adds to the ambiance. Staff is pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of parking across the street for a modest fee with free parking a short walk away. Plenty of concessions with Phillies gear and an array of food items. High grade baseball for a reasonable cost. You should visit and enjoy a game(s).Written June 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Berlinguy030Hackettstown, NJ117 contributionsThe 90 minute tour was fantastic! I started in the indoor exhibit behind the gift shop and met my tour guide Victor, an elderly gentleman with encyclopedic knowledge of the site and the planes and their backstories. I would not recommend this tour for small children just because there is quite a bit in close proximity that you were asked not to touch, and I know my two Littles would not be able to contain themselves for 90 minutes. Unlike the aviation museum in Horsham, Pennsylvania, this one does not seem to have a self guided option, so I would really only recommended for people seriously interested in aircraft. I brought my sketch book and materials, hoping to have an opportunity to sketch some of the aircraft, but there really was not an opportunity or way to be able to do so. The museum consists of an indoor hanger and a large outdoor space, with probably close to three dozen aircraft if you include the experimental and kit planes. One of the more fascinating aspects of this tour site is that they restore airplanes here as well, so you’re able to see into the workshop attached to the tour hanger and see their progress on restoring the Black Widow. This is hands-down, the best aviation museum in the area, well worth a trip and the entry fee.Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara W1 contributionMy daughter and I wandered into the New Gift Store. The woman that runs the shop was so lovely. She personalized so many of the items we were interested in and included the history behind many of the artists pieces.
She was very friendly and we enjoyed her enthusiasm and warm hearted personality!
We will definitely come back! Loved our experience!Written July 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are several plaques around the pagoda that provide a brief history of the structure, but it is advisable to read the history before visiting and confirm it is open.Written July 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - poejuggaloDC29 contributionsThis is a fantastic museum that is deceivingly big! Permanent exhibits include tons of artwork and little bits of world history from ancient to modern with an incredible amount of artifacts.
If you just wanted to stop by and not read anything, I would suggest about an hour to slowly walk through the museum. If you wanted to read information and interact with some of the exhibits, you could easily spend 3 hours here. This is truly a museum for adults and kids.
There is also a large arboretum with a trail that loops around part of the river right in front of the museum. There is also a planetarium with shows. One could easily spend as little as an hour or as long as half a day.Written March 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J M KFleetwood, PA205 contributionsGreat selection of foods, both cooked, raw to take home to cook, and health store items. Specialty shops abound. Wonderful poultry without preservatives or antibiotics, we like Go Fish for fried shrimp and pepper cabbage, and the pretzels from Stolzfus, as well as mediterranean salads, vegetables, and Leiningers meats. Boardwalk candy is wonderful and has the candy apples with cocoanut I loved from fairs as a child, plus good fudge.Written June 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was 10 ft from a low stage, like having the band in my living room. Saw Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense & they rocked the place. - PAandAZReading, Pennsylvania, USA143 contributionsWe had a Fathers Day picnic with our son’s family. He brought down his small motor home. There were places to park the motor home easily and picnic tables and shade! We had no reservation but had no trouble finding a great spot to picnic. The area is beautiful with a bridge over the water and trail along the river. Just gorgeous and a wonderful day.Written July 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Linda LCherry Hill, NJ3 contributionsSeveral fire trucks and equipment from the 1700s and the 1800s have been lovingly and beautifully restored and were fascinating to see. We loved the stories of the lifelong dedication of the horses that lived in the firehouse who left their stalls and lined up at attention ready to be harnessed and pull the equipment when the bells rang. There were pieces that honored these horses that served and showcased their tails and horseshoes and it was obvious how much these horses were loved. Upstairs room included many historic pieces of the time period. We ended up spending 2 full hours in this museum and would highly recommend!Written April 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
