- deebug2470Pittsburgh, PA3,380 contributionsWe visited this park for the first time last summer. They have a sandy beach, concession stand, fishing, hiking, cabin rentals and hiking trails. We enjoy walking along the wooden plank boardwalk to the viewing blind over the marshes as well as up to the old kilns. This time we were stuck at the kilns during a downpouring thunder storm! It made it memorable as we hid in the archways to stay dry until it passed. It was actually really beautiful to watch it from there. After the rain we drove to the bat sanctuary at the church just outside the park. We didn’t see any due to the rain. Overall I highly recommend this park to spend the day at if you’re in the area or even rent a cabin and stay a weekend.Written August 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dodie MAltoona, PA60 contributionsWe live not far from Hollidaysburg and this is a place we always seem to forget. Definitely take the time to hike up the hill to the rocks and overlook. In my opinion it's the best view! The hike isn't bad if you start from the parking area and go up. If you continue down the back side of the hill it quickly become technical so be prepared!Written February 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sochatai9 contributionsThis was a fun ride! It went onto a different brach of the railroad thru some beautiful country. My only sort of complaint, is that the bathrooms were quite a walk from where the crossing from the parking lot is. There are very few decent places to stop for a bathroom on the way there. The lunch that was purchased from the railroad, was good. The passenger cars are very nice and comfortable.Written September 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
