We visited this park for the first time last summer. They have a sandy beach, concession stand, fishing, hiking, cabin rentals and hiking trails. We enjoy walking along the wooden plank boardwalk to the viewing blind over the marshes as well as up to the old kilns. This time we were stuck at the kilns during a downpouring thunder storm! It made it memorable as we hid in the archways to stay dry until it passed. It was actually really beautiful to watch it from there. After the rain we drove to the bat sanctuary at the church just outside the park. We didn’t see any due to the rain. Overall I highly recommend this park to spend the day at if you’re in the area or even rent a cabin and stay a weekend.

We live not far from Hollidaysburg and this is a place we always seem to forget. Definitely take the time to hike up the hill to the rocks and overlook. In my opinion it's the best view! The hike isn't bad if you start from the parking area and go up. If you continue down the back side of the hill it quickly become technical so be prepared!

Have driven by this gallery many times but just recently stopped for a visit. What a pleasant surprise. I never realized how many talented artists lived in central PA. Highly recommended.

IF you are into your Blair County family genealogy, this is the place to visit! It is outstanding with all its records, books, etc.!

Most of the staff is beyond helpful and are more than willing to help you find whatever you are seeking. The advantage of the society is the fact, they also house a majority the County Archives upstairs so there's no having to go to two places to do research!

    Don't miss it!

This is one of the best cigar shops I have seen in my 30 plus yrs of smoking cigars. For a small town shop, it has one of the best selections of cigars I've seen. They have what appears to be about 250 different sticks. If you are ever in the afrea, I suggest a trip to Allegheny St. Cigars. Plus the proprietor knows his stuff.

One of the very best historic train excursions I've been on. ALL the people (ticketing, gift shop, conductor, 'dining car', and train personnel) were absolutely wonderful. (and rest rooms?) Spotless. Our excursion featured on train beverages (beer, wine, soft drinks, snacks, and ice cream! I bought the extra/optional bag lunch and let me tell you, it was one of the very best cold cuts I've had in years. $13 for a 1/2 sub, chips, water, and a cookie all in a insulated carry bag branded with the RR. Excellent. I hope everyone's experience will be as good as mine on the 2 1/2 hr ride to Martinsburg, PA.
