Cape Blanco State Park
#2 of 12 things to do in Port Orford
We did many beach trips and hiking trips, dogs and kids alike enjoyed.
Lots of easy hiking trails, great for taking young kids on.
Cape Blanco Lighthouse
#1 of 12 things to do in Port Orford
The history of the lighthouse, its keepers , and their families is fascinating.
Kids might get bored but we enjoyed all of the information...there's even poster boards and artifacts in the gift shop where you purchase the tickets for the tour.
Battle Rock Park
#4 of 12 things to do in Port Orford
We were here for the Fourth of July celebration and they had activities all week including a huge parade were each entry through a out candy for the kids.
I would not take young children as the far end could be very dangerous for someone of a young age.
Port Orford Heads State Park
#3 of 12 things to do in Port Orford
Lots of little walking trails (easy for families or seniors) with long views both north and south along the coast, and signage indicating where the original boat house was located as well as the lookout tower.
The entire family had a ball and it's a cool place to stretch your legs, while catching fabulous coastal scenery.

Humbug Mountain State Park

Just a hint, this park has been a family favorite for over 50 years...first stayed here camping and hiking/swimming when I was a teenager, and have always enjoyed it every time I have visited!
We had a great family stay with our four-year-old on a recent trip along the Coast.
