We visited here on a cold spring day during the coronavirus and were moved to tears by the poignant memorial featuring a marble wall etched with the names of the dead and survivors and a violin, a suitcase, shoes...
It was only as I left that I noticed that along the path there were inlaid bronzed personal items such as those that were taken from Holocaust victims when they arrived at the camps.
