- Carlettems28 contributionsIt is a yearly family tradition to go to Cedar Point for Halloween weekends! The kids trick or treat, do crafts, dress up, eat fall treats and take in the wonderful decorations while the adults enjoy the festivities with the haunted buildings! It doesn’t get any better with everything offered as well as the rides available!
We also get a yearly pass because we frequent the park with our grandkids. The service staff are wonderful, they go out of their way to ensure kids are safe on rides and the park is clean.
I recommend it for every age group we’re senior but love it!!
To the big Whig’s!!!!!
Please bring back the amount of shows you’ve previously had we love them! I’ve noticed they have cut back on how many show times offered and we’ve missed shows we were excited about!Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Period music from paper rolls. So many exhibits and information about merry-go-rounds including construction, carving, and volumes of history. A must see stop even if you are not a merry-go-round enthusiast.Written December 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anthony TOrlando, FL5 contributionsVisited Sandusky for Cedar Point but had a day to do other things. Found Ghostly Manor and my son and I were so glad we did. The haunted house was just awesome. I've never jumped in the many theme park houses I've been to (Universal, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Six Flags NJ) but I did here. We went during the weekday so there was no rush and we could experience all the house had to offer. I was very impressed. The staff here was super friendly, the arcade and mini golf were fun. Would definitely return if in the area and I highly recommend the haunted house. Great value here.Written October 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JaneWilliamsport, OH27 contributionsLoved walking amongst all the deer and feeding them but be warned they will grab your bag of food right out of your hand if you don’t hold it up , lol. Lots of other animals to see and feed also. Nice little gift shop and very friendly staff. Also you can bring your own pole and fish if you want , seen lots of carp in the ponds.Written August 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BlackmoreFamilyDry Ridge, KY167 contributionsWe went here for 4 days and had a good time. The water park inside and outside was fun. Both our kids, 10 and 6 had a great time. It was good value for the money. When you stay at the hotel you get the water parks for free. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy.
Make sure you book your room close to the fun or you will be walking far! 2 sit down restaurant's on site, both were very good.Written July 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stayed from Tuesday to Wednesday (spring break for us) overall our stay was great. Being during the week the park was not crowded at all.
Checkin - we arrived at noon. I was pleasantly surprised that a room was ready and we were able to check in right away. Staff was great. I did not request a bay view room but we got one. There is a lot of debris is the water that collects by the rooms.
Water park - the water park was perfect for these ages. We have been to Kalahari and I think Castaway bay was much better suited for these ages and a much better price point. The water in the wave pool was a bit cold but all other areas water temp was fine. I thought all of the lifeguards were extremely nice and helpful. You can tell that they take their jobs serious. They did measure the kids for height requirements and did not allow older kids to rough play. I was by myself with the kids and it was manageable. The wave pool was hard with both of them but that was it. Everything was also clean. Only complaint was the size of the towels. They are not even big enough for a five year old. I highly suggest bringing your own towel.
Room - the room was a standard hotel room. I thought it was clean as well. Walls are very thin. We could hear the room next to us tv until 1 am. We also had no hot water at all. This was so disappointing after being at a water park all day. Otherwise hotel was quiet which is always a concern. We were in the hall that connects to Quaker steak so there was a lot of foot traffic through that hallway but noise was not that bad.
breakfast buffet - I was also very disappointed in this. I got this as part of our room package. We arrived at 8 am. While a good variety of food, everything was cold. Their heating lamps do not work at all. Neither I or the kids ate what was on our plate as it was so cold it was inedible. We got some cereal instead. A lot of tables next to us food was also uneaten. Hotel needs to take note of this.
Extras- we did the arcade, mini golf and bowling. Arcade is expensive but comparable to others. Mini bowling is only 5 frames! Mini golf was good and fun.
Overall the kids had a great time and we would go again.Written March 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stopped for a tasting flight, and the building and grounds are beautiful. They offer full table service. Their wine flights are offered in pre-selected groups of four, and they have their own estate wines as well as many from other area vintners. We opted to share the Middle flight--half estate, half area--and tthe Firelands flight, all estate. The wines were worthy of the region.
We were having such a good time sitting on their eck and enjoying the gentle weather that I was tempted to stuy their food menu, and I was too temptd by the vanilla bean cheesecake. So I got one and shared with my wife. I like my New York style cheesecake plain, and they followed my request to omit the chocolate or caramel topping and whipped cream--and I am happy to say it scored 9,5 out of 10 on my scale, ideal flavor and just a tiny bit too dense. I paired it with an espresso, which was OK but not as wonderous as the wines or the cheesecake.
It was a very happy stop.Written August 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JBH364 contributionsThis was a unique house tour to say the least. The home is decorated for the mid-1900's. Many of the historic homes we've seen are much older so it was interesting to see a newer, old home.
Our tour didn't seem to last very long (20-30 minutes), but our guide was knowledgeable. Maybe because we had some younger kids and she was concerned too much lingering may cause an issue (although my guys have gone on tours routinely since they were babies and don't touch and are attentive, so it wouldn't have been a problem). The large living room area was my favorite.Written December 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The kids like the arcade, smaller ones like the bouncy houses and jungle gym area. Some skate a while, little kids can bring in their own scooters (non-Motorized of course) and we usually spend a couple of hours there each time. They do have snack/food area which is nice. you can bring in your own stuff tho.Written March 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wayne BLexington, KY606 contributionsWe were here for one night. This was a nice hotel/water park. I am told it is much smaller than the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, OH/Cincinnati. My 9 year old daughter liked it fine. The one complaint I have was related to the electrical outlets in the room. There are very few of them and they are mostly in use. If you have a lot of electronics I would recommend and extension cord and something like a power strip.Written October 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nathan DOak Hill, OH3 contributionsTour lasts an hour and is full of tons of information. Information about his life, his family, his work ethic, and his many ideas and inventions. House contains original items used by Edison and his family. The house is still owned by the family and you are provided with information that only a family owned museum can provide. - Jeanne B4 contributionsFriendly, helpful staff. Clean and modern with many amenities. They handled our large group of sailboats without any problems. We will definitely return.Written June 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- baseball1110Pittsburgh, PA12 contributionsWe just went to a baseball tournament here. The facilities are very clean and nice. My problem was the lack of concessions. The only hot food item was a taco truck at the entrance. The back concessions had yogurt, veg and dip and a few other cold items. We left to get food and were told that they would not allow us into the park with it. We were told to eat it in our car. We had to have our families leave the park and eat on the benches outside of the park. I can understand this policy if the other concessions were open and I would have gladly supported the park and bought my food there.Written May 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
