- Lee HWollongong, Australia3 contributionsAn excellent collection of all sorts of memorabilia. Joseph did an excellent tour and my 10 year old was fascinated with what he had.Written August 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J B8 contributionsAbsolutely lovely park. Great for children and dogs. It has several tracks that you can walk which is very helpful. If I remember correctly they have a play area for children as well.Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wainwright4 contributionsThe brewery tap is a little difficult to find, the entrance is opposite a new build estate and down a narrow lane. Once you are there it opens out to a large car park and a large grass outdoor area with a marquee where there are events throughout the year.
The pub features two bars, one is over 18 only and the other is over 18 after 7, (IIRC). The main bar offers a view of the brewery itself. The pub is modern and very clean with plenty of seating.
The beer.... fantastic! Normally about 8 of the beers brewed on site, varying from session bitters to quite strong IPAs . You will always find one you like.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and can always help to choose a beer for you.
The pub is open Thursday to Sunday, but always worth checking out the website for details before you head here, you don't want a wasted journey!
Overall, a cracking place for any real ale fan.Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The highlights being the Larry Grayson section and the mock up of George Eliot’s (the Victorian writer) sitting room.
Both the above very different people are key figures in Nuneaton’s history.
Watched a 10 minute film about Grayson and saw a few exhibits such as a chair he used on stage, a bow tie he wore when meeting the queen and door plaques. He really was a comedy great.
Learnt about Mary Ann Evans - or George Eliot as she became known - from her novels to the scandal of living with a married man!
There’s a tea room in the centre of the museum - and will only take an hour including a break. go and support this cracking local museum!
When you exit - remember to shut that door!Written February 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not been here since 1975 as it's an open weekend though I would go a have a look. The work to the building after the fire in 1978 is very nicely done. You can hire the castle it sleeps 8. The grounds are nice with a view down to a large pond. Well worth having a look aroundWritten June 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pesue1Nuneaton, UK641 contributionsWe visited tunnel brewery through groupon, after a short talk about the history the tour started and after every stop we were given a bottle to try, afterwards with cheese & biceps and another bottle I felt quite happy.even if you don't drink it is worth a visitWritten January 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kingmariejohnNuneaton, UK2 contributionsVery interesting place to visit. Good for families and individuals. Grandson enjoyed the air raid shelter and the old fashioned classroom. Lots to see and experience. Exhibits stir childhood memories. Friendly and helpful volunteers. George Eliot country too.Written January 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PearlDragon1 contributionI'm leaving this review as a response to the very last review that was left on here, by a stalker of one of the young women who works here. BOTH young women have had their vaccinations, and there is indeed hand sanitiser on site. They DO NOT have bad body odor, as they shower everyday as well, and they certainly don't go around calling people "sheep". Please leave the glassworks owner alone, and get yourself some psychological help.
The business and the young women who work here are professional and hardworking, who make beautiful pieces of glasswork. I have several pieces myself, and will often buy a piece for my mother on special occasions, as she's also a big fan.Written March 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She lived petting the guinea pigs and d feeding the animals. We went to the Dinosaur show which was amazing...she wasn't a bit scared. She panned for gold, enjoyed the play areas and the indoor soft play. Good cafe and some small shops. We brought doggy ice cream home for the dogs as they weren't allowed to come to the park . - Chris MWetherby, UK1,534 contributionsThis statue, in the pedestrianised centre of Nuneaton, is of the novelist Mary Anne Evans. It is interesting being of a woman and carrying the mainly male name of George Eliot, which she used as the pen name for her novels. The name George Eliot has a high profile in the area with several references e.g. Academy, Hospital and Hotel using the name. Worth having a quick look if in the town.Written June 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GrahamUK33Hinckley, UK391 contributionsWe bought some sausages and lamb burgers from the farm shop when we had a BBQ. We were very pleased with the quality and flavour.
