Great scenery and so rewarding but incredibly hard (certainly for a relatively unfit 50 year old) but planning and the right gear make this a great way to spend a day.
Fabulous scenery, great camaraderie, once is enough but what an achievement when you get to the pub and have a pint of Ingleborough golden.

The path from St. Mary’s Church through some woods to the town rugby club leads you to a signed beauty spot perfect for sitting down and taking five minutes rest and enjoying the view.

Tips: Arrive early, be prepared with food (hot porridge and a flask worked well), full waterproofs and warm clothing, expect to wait (we arrived at 8:00 when the winch began and descended at 11:20).
If you go during the May Bank Holiday weekend you may have to wait for up to four hours before you enter - so get there early.
