Lovely place to visit, we walked the labyrinth, explored the grounds and visited the temple - peace filled !
The highlight was sitting in the Temple and absolute quite time to spend in thoughts which was amazing experience.

The Medieval wall-paintings on the columns are well preserved and very evocative, as are the wonderful modern statues to martyrs (including Bonhoeffer and Oscar Romero) on the new organ screen.
Very nice cathedral covering a huge amount of land and with a very interesting history I can recommend the guided tour with very knowledgeable guides well worth a visit if you are anywhere near St Albans

The gardens are beautiful on a summers day - they’re only open 2pm-5pm however they don’t kick you out at 5! The house tour is really worth it, it’s £8 for an adult for the tour and gardens which is reasonable.
There are lawns, arbors, water features, pergolas, sun dials and gazebos all arranged to please the eye with the hansome mansion as the perfect backdrop.
