Lovely area between the railway line and sea full of pubs, cafes, the boatyard and a small sandy beach. Nice for a stroll and some refreshments.

Decided to go down the pier with the family (with wife and two young children). We decided to take the train there and back (too small to walk) and had some food and drinks at the end of the pier. A little pricey as you would expect but the children loved it.

We have visited here a few times. It is in a good location with plenty of nearby places for dining before or after a show

There is free parking in the park. Unfortunately even during these socially distanced times the cafe in the park only takes cash. It’s a short walk to the priory which is free to visit. The visitor centre was partly open so I purchased a guidebook. The priory was converted into a house. The upstairs was closed but you could still visit the refectory where there is lots of information on the priory and how the monks lived. The staff were really friendly. Hopefully the whole place will be open in the not too distant future.

I love Westcliff, but the people who have said it’s a lovely sandy beach? Is there another Westcliff somewhere that I don’t know about? The beach is definitely not sandy!

Large open spaces with a lake/pond to walk around, cafe open, 2 long cheese n ham/salad rolls and 2 average coffees just under£10, also selling nice looking ice creams, public toilets available and open on our visit 18/8/20
Car park on far side looks free plus ample free street parking around park, but not free on seafront that is a 5 minute walk away.

Further to the reviews i would suggest that visitors to the castle take time to lunch at nearby Hadleigh farm, a place founded and still owned by the Salvation Army, it was a re-training centre for the poor and forgotten souls, teaching new skills and temperance following the ideas of William Booth founder of the Salvation Army.
It has a large cafe and good facilities for the day tripper or walker. Staff mostly by volunteers some of whom have learning difficulties it is a beautiful place to warm the body and soul.

We hadn't realised that there were Cliff gardens to walk through. They look lovely and are easy to walk through

Went for a pre xmas spa day with a friend. We had been recommend this place but struggled to find a website for it and even find the place in aviation way. No signs etc so very hidden. Pool lovely and jacuzzi hot (probably too hot). Nice selection of magazines to read and relax with. Only a steam and sauna room so not a huge amount to do. Had a facial which was nice and relaxing. Would recommend.

Stayed for 1 night in deer tent. Found the place fine. It is a little walk to the tents so luckily you don't have to carry your luggage. The tents are very spacious and clean and tidy. The veranda was lovely to sit outside and relax. Kitchen stock was limited, not really enough cutlery etc if there would have been 6 of us. Maybe this was removed as there was only 3 of us. Some lighting available inside the tent and a gas stove and sink with tank of water. We had a locely stay and our little boy had the best time and made a friend in the tent next door. Would stay again.

This was for a couple of family birthdays. First time doing an escape room. We did Pirate Plunder. Amber was our guide/parrot!!! She was Amazing.
The Escape room was brilliantly constructed and lots of fun. Time goes very fast.
We managed to get out with 11 mins and 26 seconds to go.
We would definitely come back and do another room.

Really enjoyed a family trip out to see the seals. Very well organised. We saw seals swimming and on the mud flats!

Firstly the staff here were so welcoming and incredibly helpful. I actually had booked 18 holes of golf for me and my boyfriends trip to Southend back in March, however we both got covid and couldn’t go. When I called caddies to cancel I expected them to simply cancel the booking with no refund. However they provided me with an email to explain the situation to and arrange another date to attend. This was so helpful as it allowed us to not have to them pay any extra to revisit in May. The man who checked us in was so enthusiastic and really seemed like he could not do enough to help us. The course itself is fun - I’d recommend doing all 18 holes as each course has its own fun and interactive sections. Both of the courses were very quiet when we attended so we could take our time and appreciate the atmosphere. If you can go during school hours to avoid crowds then definitely do. We didn’t eat here however we did have two cocktails each - one during each course. The cocktails were really good and had lots of sweets and fun decoration on top. The bubblegum one was amazing! And the cocktails were 2 for 13 pound when we visited which we felt was a great deal as they were so good. Overall a super enjoyable experience and will definitely recommend to anyone else visiting the area.

An enjoyable event. You will not know when it's coming. You won't know what it is. At every turn you'll be on your guard, and then aaaarrrhhhh!
    Fiendish entertainment.
