Tucked away in the farming countryside this ruined Manor House has a rich history. The info boards describe how one local family made their fortune and lost it, resulting in the Manor House having to be dismantled so it’s stone-work could be sold to raise cash to pay their debts.

There are lots of clearly signed footpaths so make sure your walk them to get a good view of the different angles of this property.

Having read a few Tripadvisor reviews, we decided to give this a go as a way of entertaining the children round Holt. Once we got the hang of what we were looking for, it was quite easy to follow, although it was surprising how many shops were unaware of the trail.
Would recommend getting the guide from the tourist info office in Nelson House as it was much easier to read than the phone.
Took us about 30 mins in all.

We found this by accident when we were cycling past. The guides were so welcoming and very knowledgeable. It really was fascinating to learn about the dome and its role during the war. I would thoroughly recommend visiting this gem in the Norfolk countryside.

We wre very surpried to find that the church was open (a rarity) one of the few places worth seeing in Holt. If you are there on a Sunday, the morning service is well done

A lovely 15th century church. Needs to raise £200,000 to make repairs. Pop in and donate the price of a couple of starters that you would have spent in the nearby pub. The church will benefit and you still get to have your drink and a main course

A large church for the size of the community. Lots of lovely poppyhead and bench end carvings and many other historic details. Don't do what we did and walk from the village hall public parking - it's a long way. There is parking outside the church off Holt Road not Church Lane.
