I am primarily interested in the history and origin of rock and roll. I therefore loved all the exhibits of the legends: Elvis, Chuck Berry, the Killer, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and, of course, the Beatles. I spent a long time listening to the hits from the various decades. I had less interest in the clothes and memorabilia.
I found the upper floors less interesting but still worthwhile.
I spent a small fortune in the gift shop, but it was worth it.
My only complaint is the skimpy Grateful Dead section. I know not everyone loves the Dead, but that band deserves more recognition.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is one of the top museums in the U.S., and there are over 3500 reviews praising it on TripAdvisor alone. It doesn't need yet another recommendation.

This review is intended only to call more attention to the ArtLens Wall, just off the atrium. Its room is a playground for all ages, with millions of pixels-worth of tiles displaying art works on multiple touchscreens. Touch an image you like, and it enlarges, tells you which gallery houses the work, and gives you information about the piece. Further touches let you delve more deeply with offers to show you images by the same artist, or from the same period, or of the same type. A connected app for smartphones lets you download the images and information and set up your own tour of the museum. This is an innovation that teaches and delights--and in that it achieves an ideal.

If you visit in the spring/summer of 2024, don't overlook the "Seven Jeweled Mountain" immersive experience. The 10-min. presentation combines images from a 14th century folding screen (on display just outside the video room) with a 16th century account of a hike through that scenery. It's an extraordinarily peaceful and absorbing experience.

This is a guided tour and was filled with fun facts and funny stories. A treat if you love the movie, and if not a huge fan you will definitely want to watch the movie after. We went on a busy day the day before the eclipse but had gotten there prior to opening so had no trouble parking but we were in 2nd tour group so had to wait a bit but the gift shop keeps you busy! Laura was very entertaining and informative.

I took my 5-year-old nephew here the day before Thanksgiving. It was fairly crowded but not crazy.
There are lots of activities to interest kids of different ages. My nephew enjoyed the room with ball pit as well as the Lego room. There seemed to be a lot of staff working, but not necessarily connecting the activities with science.
A fun way to spend a day.

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is like a thrilling adventure through the wonders of the natural world! From towering dinosaur skeletons that make you feel like you're in Jurassic Park to the sparkling geodes that ignite your inner rock collector, every corner is a new discovery. The planetarium shows are mind-boggling, taking you on journeys across the universe. What really got me excited were the interactive exhibits; you can touch fossils, control earthquakes, and even see live wildlife up close. It's not just a museum; it's a playground for curious minds.

This is a beautiful monument to the soldiers from Cuyahoga county who served during the civil war. Names os soldiers on walls inside along with some artifacts and bronze carvings. There is no entrance charge. It is well worth a visit. Located right in the square across from Jack Casino

Since I was born and bred in a Cleveland briar patch this was more than like home for me. I found so much I never knew about a city I thought I knew everything about. Legendary cars and a few aircraft. At this time a large amount of motorcycles and Ferrari is the featured car. The Carousel was even fun for an old curmudgeon like me. The Hays mansion has exhibits reflecting the early days with each room filled as they would have been. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Convenient parking. Easy access. Two to three hours to discover it all. Close to the Cleveland Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens, Little Italy and more. If I had another thumb it would be three thumbs up!

The Western Reserve Historical Society has so much to offer. We started with the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum which had a special exhibit of Ferraris but also its own collection of beautiful antique cars, a carousel ride, and then found ourselves in the historic Hay McKinney mansion with period furnishings, mannequins and gas lighting. Fascinating. I was surprised to see the mansion will not be staying open after next June. Please visit and support this wonderful historical property.

The Buckland Museum is awesome! It's fun, has great artifacts, and it is both respectfully done and a little campy. Great place to spend an afternoon.

What an absolute gem this museum is which inside Burke Lakefront Airport which harkens back to small local airports of old times which a beautiful lake view. The collection is arranged chronologically and highlights these pioneering women’s lives both personally and professionally. There is a wonderful balance of admiration for their tenacity and acknowledgment of the privilege needed to attain their aviation goals.

This is a great experience for kids in Cleveland. Legos &, arts and crafts are fun. But the real draw is the lower level with its 30 ft climbing structure, play theater and water room. Downside is its only a 2 hr time slot with no extending the time.

The outside looks like many other government buildings, but the inside is quite spectacular. The old vault is amazing.
