It's right along the river and near a large park, so you can hike or go view the river when you're done.
We walked around the zoo (it was taxing for my elderly parents, but an easy walk and there are plenty of benches throughout the park for people that need to rest).

Great hiking and bike trails, camping, pretty scenery, fascinating history, a neat museum and even a trolley into Mandan are a few of the special features of the park.
This Park is a GREAT place to explore History, the kids run around outside, hike, bike, and to ride trails with Horses.
