What travelers are saying
- Kurt TNorth Charleston, SC9 contributionsThe battleship is immaculately preserved, with excellent tour guides. We learned that the North Carolina was the most warded battleship of World War II. It was a great tour.Written May 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Susie Snowflake105 contributionsAzalea time! Tulips in bloom. Very beautiful well cared for gardens, Most of the paths are paved and handicapped accessible. The map given when you pay is so general it is almost worthless. There are signs, but they describe what to see without pointing you in the right direction. Be prepared for a lot of walking.Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- southmauijimKihei, HI186 contributionsThis is a great area to explore on foot. Second Street is probably my favorite as there is quite a bit of traffic on 3rd and also on Front Street. You can spend an hour or two here just admiring the beautiful old homes. This area has the highest elevation in the Wilmington area, about 35 feet above sea level. I walked around it a few times by myself and also with my wife and it is very enjoyable.Written November 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveler2AMPoughkeepsie, NY761 contributionsVery lovely easy walk past very nice eateries. Clearly the area has been redone. The river is not a lovely as others I have seen. However, it was just right after visiting the Nemours Estate.Written June 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jshwin85Raleigh, NC22 contributionsWe took at 10am guided tour with Christina. She was amazing. It was just my friend and myself so she asked how much time we had and what we wanted to focus on. She gave us a great overview and I learned so much! The guided tour is only an extra $5 and more than worth it. There is so much history in that little corner of Wilmington that you would never guess. Just an FYI: the house does not have A/C.Written June 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Kate Illinois1Illinois4,579 contributionsIntroductory to Wilmington's past. This house was built 1771 on top of ballast stone walls of the former city jail (circa 1744). Our male docent did a wonderful job bringing this home and occupants to life. One thing not mentioned was the house served as Lord Cornwallis headquaters. Metered street parking or walking distance from Pay Parking lots.Written May 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandi M2 contributionsThe owners personally took care of us by explaining each wine and it's origination, family owned business for decades, delicious wine and knowledgeable staff. - Foodie CoachCranberry Township, PA16 contributionsOutdoor is impressing and reading about history is best part. - Susie Snowflake105 contributionsSo pleasant, quiet, and well done. This is a comparatively small garden but it is handicapped accessible and an easy walk around. The landscaping is individualized into sections and the Japanese garden features a teahouse, a small waterfall and a stream. There are picnic areas and a large pond with beautiful koi. Loved it.Written May 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
