What travelers are saying
- David PHilton Head, SC85 contributionsFun experience over from Southpoint. 35 minute ride, clean ferry, nice staff, good time and a quick way to get over to Fort Fisher, Kure and Carolina Beaches. Only $7.00 per car each way. Can't find a cheaper boat ride anywhere else. Get there early in the summer as wait times can increase. Ferry only holds about 30-35 cars.Written July 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CJ W7 contributionsNice pier for strolling or fishing. There are bench seats with foot rests to sit and enjoy the water views. You can see the lighthouses off in the distance. There are also benches and swings all along the waterfront, as well as sidewalks.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CJ W7 contributionsThis is a small museum on the history of Southport and the NC coast. There is a telescope that allows an up-close view of the lighthouses.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CJ W7 contributionsThe staff at the museum were very friendly, welcoming, and out-going and were eager to share details of their beautiful town. There is a movie room with photos and memorabilia from movies and tv shows that have been filmed in Southport.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cmbagwell71Fort Bragg, NC7 contributionsWe stopped by for a quick tasting and ended up staying awhile. I’m a wine drinker and my husband is a beer drinker, and they have a wide variety of both. John was very knowledgeable about the wines and was a lot of fun! We will definitely be back!Written October 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AvalonavalonMystic, CT294 contributionsAlthough the marina is beautiful with great staff and within walking distance to town, our primary reason for returning twice a year (while traveling the ICW) is to hear Hank's free nightly lecture and having professional service done by Zimmerman. We've been doing this for the past four years. Having Hank and Zimmerman at this marina is a definite asset!!!Written November 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Betty YMaiden, NC5 contributionsToured the old jail - very small - has several rooms set up as it would've been. Nice tour guides - very informative. There is an old graveyard across the road that was interesting to walk through, too.Written November 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ROBERT ASouthport, NC39 contributionsTrinity United Methodist Church is a must see for visitors to Southport, NC. Its sanctuary is a remarkable illustration of old time architecture and construction. If inclined attend a service on Sunday, you will find the congregation welcoming and anxious to extoll the benefits of living in a small seaside town.Written December 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sbluesky225Greensboro, NC176 contributionsMy family enjoyed our visit here. We looked around for a while and found some interesting things to check out. My son bought several comics, and we were glad to see a variety of items and pretty good prices.Written May 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA2,586 contributionsStopped here and enjoyed the gallery. This has a great selection of local artists, nicely displayed in a bright, light filled space. Great historical building, well equipped to show wonderful crafts. Maybe too much pottery for my taste. Worth a visit when wandering through town.Written August 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kathleen H1 contributionA fantastic art gallery with such talented and diverse artists!! We were immediately greeted by the friendly owner and she told us all about the artists and their work. It was refreshing to see such different mediums and one of a kind pieces. This little piece of heaven will now be on my list to visit with every visit to Southport!Written December 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suzanne35691Bloomington, IL178 contributionsAbout $23 per person for a round-trip ticket. A pleasant ride over, but coming back, I'd recommend getting to the dock early. The ferry taking us home was very crowded; the air-conditioned area filled first and those of us near the end of the line were forced to sit up front and along the sides and WE WERE SOAKED TO THE SKIN. There was a warning, yes, but no other place to sit. Just be forewarned. If the day workers all congregate in a certain area, they know something!Written June 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - loist51Richmond, VA810 contributionsWe saw the best play here on a Saturday evening. It was a production of "Jack Benny Isn't 39 Anymore," and it was funny, entertaining and professional cast that was so believable! There was a twist in the play that made it even more of an interesting theme. Kudos to this community for keeping little theatre alive!! Can't wait until our next trip and the next play we see here!Written October 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jon S21 contributionsWent in looking for some collectables for my wife. Barbara was so kind and personable. She is a sweetheart of a lady who has lived through many tragedies and clings onto her faith. Such a peaceful place to visit!!Written May 21, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
