    Wright Brother’s Museum

The Wright Brothers National Memorial Museum; this is situated in a State park, adequate parking spaces.. There are individual exhibits on the grounds The children were excited to see the preparation and departure of a Light aircraft. The visitor’s center was also amazing. On average a two to three hour visit.

Great place to escape the beach chaos! Well maintained paths, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a peaceful visit with nature…saw a Blue Herron on my very first trip.

Have visited Avalon Pier for 25+ years. Most of those years your few beer choices only came in a can. Storms have shortened the pier over the years but an interior remodel in the last 3-4 years has been great for business. Nice bar area with 8-10 good tap beers.

Now they have a good crowd of locals and live music. Very cool casual atmosphere that’s fun. Food is OK but I go across the street to eat. Stop here for music and a nightcap before walking home up the beach.

Very scenic, lots of exercise. The visitor office was closed when we were there. Additional restrooms would have been welcomed. Many informative brochures that make the hikes more interesting and educational.

This place is in a handy location and it's free to visit. There is a nice garden area with all plants well-labeled, and a wide, easy walkway through the forest. The trail leads to a large pond with a little pier and several swings to relax on. It's located off Colington Road, beside the Wright Brothers Memorial. There's adjacent free parking.

We visited an art gallery, but I forget the name. It has been in business since 1961 and the interior is HUGE! It is very deceiving from the street. Absolutely beautiful artwork. There is also estate jewelry. Very organized and clean. The person who greeted us was very helpful. I'm so glad we decided to stop when driving by.

Sadly, this is no more as the Paulos have gone on to be with the Lord they honored with their Christmas display. On a smaller scale, you must go see “Kitty Hawk Christmas Land” on 5111 Lunar Drive in Kitty Hawk next year.

Went here on an afternoon when there was a chance of rain. We had 4 adults and 5 teens. Everyone enjoyed the course. The train ride to the start was a unique start which we loved. We played the diamond course. Few unique obstacles which is driving our rating. Look for $1 off coupon in coupon books if you go before 6:00. Also don’t forget to ask about the secret hole. If you got a hole in one on that hole, you win a free game. Lots of locations outside of OBX to use the free game coupon.

Very accommodating. A little more expensive but threw in some extras. Came in on Sunday to check us in. Terrific service. We rented two and had infant to grandma. Had to purchase a step stool for each vehicle to get in and out.

If you want to be centrally located to the north & south outer banks, this is a great RV park. Next to the Wright Bros National Memorial & museum. Everything around to do. Restaurants, shopping, beach nearby, hiking, water sports. We drove 30 min north to take a hummer Wild Mustang tour. It was fun. Hatteras to the south. This RV park has wide open sites. Grassy with gravel parking pads. Very clean. Picnic table & some grills out by the water. Friendly & helpful staff. We would choose to stay there again. Stayed on #12.

Nice variety I guess is one of the best things about a cooperative. Not just variety as in pottery, paintings and jewelry but varies styles of each. I popped in for a quick look and left about 30 min later with a painting and a colorful starfish wall hanging. I had been looking for a painting as that it my go to souvenir but hadn't been able to find one that struck me til here. Definitely worth a stop in if art is your interest.
