- toslJersey City, NJ958 contributionsYou can easily spend a couple of hours in this free museum near Fort Bragg. Excellent dioramas explain the history and development of the 82nd airborne and paratroopers in the US. Very clear curation and easy to understand the military history.Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa BTexas1,377 contributionsThe Cape Fear Botanical Garden has beautiful grounds with flower beds, a pond with a water feature, and benches along tree-lined areas. It is beautifully designed, quiet, and enjoyable.
Beyond the botanical garden area, you will find nature trails. Some pathways are broad dirt paths, some are covered with pine straw, and others have gravel. There is an overlook upon a winding river. There are multiple trails with varying links. Even after a rainfall, these trails were easy to traverse. They are family-friendly, quiet, and relaxing—a great place for a morning or afternoon stroll.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Check the website for tour times. It was our lucky day since Ruth, in Victorian costume, enthusiastically shared her great knowledge of all things Victorian and Poe. The restored house decorated for Christmas Victorian style with green swags and red ribbons was a joy to see. Ruth explained items in each room bringing the place to life. The museum next door explains Cape Fear history very well and is also worth a visit. There is no admission cost but both venues are well deserving of a donation if you visit. So glad we took this tour.Written December 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Cheri DYardville, NJ481 contributionsNice trail to walk. We only had time to walk partially. There is a small waterfall here that we were hoping to see, but dusk was approaching and they do close the park. The walk is quite lovely though coming across a small bridge over a pond and listening to the frogs here.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lin_Dan_2223Fayetteville, AR1,901 contributionsGreat monument to NC Veterans from all branches of the US Military. This is a great way to honor veterans. I specifically liked the displays showing NCs participation in wars & conflicts from the Civil war thru The Gulf conflicts.Written May 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nancy A290 contributionsThis is a nice, but small, local museum. What's there is well done I just wish there was more to it. I also toured the Poe House next door which was Great!Written June 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mrs MarshallHope Mills, NC8 contributionsI have been here several times since I discovered this place existence.
I came with my family which consisted of Mostly all young adults and 1 teen. This is a Great family activity no matter how inexperienced the climber.
My husband and I came here as a couple with friends and it was a great date night with friends.
My oldest adult son and I would come weekly for regularly skills training and work out and look forward to getting back into a weekly routine the start of the new year.
Great hang out with my girlfriends while their young kids enjoy the special kid friendly climbing equipment.
One of the young instructors is amazing with kids and she is a highly skilled competitor in her field. (ask for Nadia)
The atmosphere is family friendly and creative as the walls are constantly redesigned regularly to challenge skills from the least experience to the most experiences climber (my friend Ranger instructor).
It’s a great activity to do on cold raining days and they have all the equipment for rent there.Written December 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lake Rim is a specific area for fishing and boating access area controlled by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). It is not a city or county park! It is not a picnic area! If you are not fishing or boating then you are in violation of the NCWRC access area rules and regulations. Somebody stated long ago that there is a Lake Rim Trail but that is a misnomer as whomever laid out the so-called trail was TRESPASSING on private property. Stepping past the NCWRC fenced in area puts you on private property! There is no sun bathing or swimming at any NCWRC fishing and boating access areas. REPEAT, the NCWRC boating and fishing area is NOT a city public park and is NOT connected in any way to the City Lake Rim Park. For more information, please contact NCWRC.Written July 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lisa BTexas1,377 contributionsThis historic Market House was built in 1838. The upper level was used as the town hall until 1906, and the ground floor was used as a market space until 1907. The Market House was used for selling goods and livestock. The Market House format was standard until the early 20th century in England, Ireland, and the British Isles. The second floor is now a museum.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
