- Hank HVirginia665 contributionsCame here with my wife and 1 yr old granddaughter to spend a few hours while mom took care of important business.
This place is beautifully designed and spacious! It sports a beautiful walking path, a large pond, rolling hills, lush lawns, and old-growth shade trees. We could easily have found a cozy spot to picnic, read a book, toss a frisbee, go fishing, go jogging, taken nature photos, or … all of the above.
Parking can be tricky to find, but worth the walk. Highly recommended whether you have one hour or all day.Written June 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The food was delicious. We had knockwurst German style with German potato salad. The food was a reminder of the days when we lived in Germany. The waiter was friendly and offered suggestions. If we find ourself in the area again, I would definitely return for a meal.Written January 30, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately not really good food options, vegetarians must be happy with some French fries.

- jessicalw28Greensboro, NC17 contributionsBeautiful hidden gem of a neighborhood in Uptown Charlotte. I recommend downloading the Friends of Fourth Ward walking tour. We were a bit disappointed that some homes had been painted more boring whites and greys since the last time we visited a few years ago. They have lost some of their Victorian charm, but at least they are still standing.Written December 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom HAtlanta, Georgia92 contributionsBeautiful trail from Freedom Park, downtown, to Pineville 13 miles to the south. Out and back, is a scenic 25 miles on well maintained, paved, trail. We rode it 3 days after hurricane Helene and were worried the trail would be closed. It was clean and open! Great children's library. The books are displayed in a way that encourages young readers to pick one up and look through the pages. The computers have some great learning experiences available for all ages. Lots of little activities for all ages that can be done independently. Free. Must visit!Written February 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The greenhouse was ok and the gardens was like a hike in a park. It only took an hour to get through and I was thorough. It’s quite a bit north of where most travelers stay (consider rideshare cost and time).Written February 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndreaRaleigh, NC33 contributionsQuite possibly the best thrift store in Charlotte. You can spend 1/2 day and not get through it all. All the vendor booths are spacious, they provide small shopping carts and baskets. There is a small coffee shop inside.
Prices and fair and there is something for everyone.
