What travelers are saying
- Eric P1 contributionWhen I arrived and asked to be seated I was told that they do not serve food here. Deceptive name.
Walked around and the place looked really nice. Would call ahead if you have hungry kids.Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The greenhouse was ok and the gardens was like a hike in a park. It only took an hour to get through and I was thorough. It’s quite a bit north of where most travelers stay (consider rideshare cost and time).Written February 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reid M19 contributionsIncredible garden. I met one of the two owners/caretakers, Tom. He showed me around and explained how this beautiful garden came to be. Most accommodating host and proud gardener.
Everything Tom and his wife have planted has a name plate in the ground. I have never seen such a diverse collection of Japanese Maples, Cammelias, Dogwoods and Helibores ever in one place before.
Tucked into the garden are all sorts of little surprises, cacti, succulents, etc.
Stroll the paths or sit on one of the benches and just soak in the beauty.
I highly recommend visiting this garden when you are in Charlotte, NC. You won’t be disappointed. Beautiful venue, great food, really uncomfortable chairs, which may not have been mcgill’s fault.Written October 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reid M19 contributionsSerentity Garden is aptly named. I went on a Monday morning and had the garden to myself. It was very serene.
Upon entering the garden the first thing I heard was the waterfall. There are benches to sit on all over this immense garden and either contemplate or just soak in the beauty.
Statuary, sculptures, and a beautiful bonsai tree are hidden among the hundreds of tall trees.
Paths and bridges connect the different areas of the garden.
Being October, the place is done up for Halloween with a lot of whimsy.
Make sure to bring water and wear good shoes. This is a must see garden with free admission in Charlotte, NC.Written October 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
