This is well worth the visit (free entrance if you take the train ride). Wonderful working models and set-up.
many, many different models to view. Only for the true enthusiast.

A great way to travel and see beautiful nature areas. It is a slow trip with nothing much to do, but well worth the outing. We took the closed train since the open wagons take a lot of smoke (when you pick the steam train). We also took our own picnic lunch. It is possible to buy food on the train and at the stop-over, but usually very long queues.

I have a 3yr old son who absolutely loved being outdoors. My family found a spot in front of the falls that he could play and even got him a small tube to float down a 50 yard section of the creek. The water is perfect temperature and the scenery is superb! We will be back for sure! Pro tip: pack a lunch and put it in a rolling cooler to take with you on the trail to your spot by the creek!

Interesting place to visit if you have some time. The tunnel is not much to see, but there are beautiful forests right round it, so plan to do some hiking.

We’ll kept beautiful pond. Easy for kids to fish. Long winding road through the woods to get there, not paved. Very impressed.

My wife and I enjoy microbreweries so on a trip through Bryson City, NC, we decided to stop. We enjoyed the craft beer…excellent quality. The second floor patio that overlooks the river and the town is hard to beat! Great experience. We will stop again when we are in the area.

Having a GSMP visitor center was a big plus. It saved the drive to one of the larger centers for the annual ornament purchase. The 2nd floor museum was interesting.

Standard Farmers Market but the upside was the Dole Whip which they have in Pineapple, Blackberry, and Strawberry I think. I was very happy with the Pineapple.

We were staying at a nearby inn and the owners recommended we come here. We followed GPS up some winding roads and came upon a little building with open patio areas, one with a stunning view of the mountains. Keep is mind that a winery is where they make the wine but not necessarily where the grapes are. I believe this winery sources grapes from several sources. We did a tasting (you get to choose from among various wines) and liked the Malbec so much that we bought a bottle. There was also a large, mellow dog that got lots of attention from the patrons. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I've seen negative reviews of this place because they don't allow kids -- that's fine with us! There are multiple signs on the way saying it is strictly 21 and over. If you don't like that policy, then don't bring junior and missy with you.

We took an adventure to ride the Great Smokey Mountain Railway and we had the best time listening to our narrator, Tim. He was such a joy and really made our trip so fun and special.

This was a great experience for our kids. There are actual valuable gems to find and after you are done a really nice man goes through and lets you know what you have and if it is valuable. We will be back.

This is a sweet little vintage and antique shop. Small and neat. Worth adding to your list of stops on your vacation.

This is a fun place to come with youngsters to pan for gemstones. It's fun to do, even on a hot day as the place is shaded. This is a great thing to do when you are in the Nantahala area

No matter which way you look, you will see beauty all around you. Check out the huge rock/plaque where the park was dedicated many years ago for our enjoyment today!
