You do not have to be an avid hiker. With a very leisurely walk you can see 3 waterfalls and this is a welcoming are.

Very well maintained and interesting local heritage museum. Enjoyed strolling thru the historical displays. We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and staying at the Everett Hotel and Bistro next door.

It was neat seeing all the trains and displays. The children enjoyed watching them. Stopped in while waiting to board the Polar Express.

I usually enjoy Mexican Lagers. Theirs was 4 out of 5. Rice Wagon is all about carbs and salt. Half the meal was rice. 35% macaroni with mayo. 15% was entree, which could have been delicious were it not very salty. This meal was just under $16 for a cup of onions with mushroom bits and two pieces of broccoli. Disappointing. I had the Tuna last year and it was delicious. Worth every penny. This year I cannot say.

We come annually to ride the 4 mountain bike trails here. Love them all for the scenery, challenge, and fun - especially Thompson Loop.

Beautiful place to drink a glass of wine. Drive is close to Cherokee. Wine is good for the most part. Fireside red is definitely worth tasting. Highly recommended for a quiet drink in the mountains

We visit for fresh fruits and vegs, jellies and jams and the Dream Whips. It is a working farm and they sponsor monthly on site events that are open to all. Cute stage and seating area (rocking chairs included) as well as picnic and play areas right on the river. Worth a visit, just south of Bryson City.

We took an adventure to ride the Great Smokey Mountain Railway and we had the best time listening to our narrator, Tim. He was such a joy and really made our trip so fun and special.

If you're in the area and have the time, this is an interesting place to visit. After hearing about it and researching it, we decided to make the short drive over, (from Sapphire Valley), if for nothing else, just to say we've been there. We walked through the long tunnel and viewed the 'graffiti' on the walls. I'm not usually 'a fan' of graffiti, but this was more like an art exhibit. Some were quite interesting. While my wife sat for a rest I continued on to the end of the road which is probably about a half mile past the tunnel. It was interesting to see how the work just suddenly stopped with the notches cut for the rails, but no rails. .... (Leave it to the government!)

I have been shopping at Wild Fern for several months. Molly has wonderful gifts for family and friends. Last month I purchased a beautiful, one-of-a-kind hair barret for a granddaughter. Perfect gift and very unique. This is one of my favourite shops in town. I live here, so I frequent local shops often.
