I finally made it to the local zoo. It was a cold December day, but I visited with friends who wanted to see the twin baby elephants. They were inside the elephant house because there was snow on the ground. The windows were cleaned so we could see them clearly. They have specific showing times so check before going.
The windows are large and there are steps at one for youngsters.
While there we also looked at other animals on display.
There are a number of outdoor areas and a couple inside displays.
There is a gift shop at the entry. There is a fee to enter.

I didn't expect much, but this museum is awesome. It was raining outside so we were seeking shelter for an hour before dinner and so happy we did. The exhibits are so interesting and the movie playing was fantastic. Make sure you visit here.

This is a huge mall with a wide variety of stores. We spent all day here and I don't think we even got to see the whole place. Plus there is other things to do like the movies, arcade etc. Several restaurants and a food court to choose from also.

This is a very nice interactive science museum for kids, (adults will also enjoy it).. It is one of Syracuse's highlights. There are many fun hands on exhibits, with some downfalls. Sadly, there are also many exhibits that didnt work or were broken. The kids enjoy the kids exhibits- especially the multi story maze, with slides, tunnels and climbing stuff. . There is an area to eat in, sadly they dont sell any real food- only a vending maching for drinks and one for snacks (candy, chips, etc.) There is also a "concession" stand with candy to purchase for the movie. Speaking of which, it was a choice between Dinosaurs of the Antactic or a Planetarium type movie. Our 5 yr old chose the dinosaurs, which was a group of adults on an expedition , and he was soon bored with the adult level of the show. Parking is available at a $5.00 charge behind the museum , through the tunnel, in a parking lot, or you may be lucky to find on street parking. It was recommended to me (when I called) to bring outside food. I am glad I did.

Went to an evening game. Stadium is very well kept with great sight lines. They have great promotions for those who look at it more of a night out than a ball game.

There are two negatives: netting down the entire line and the exits onto the main roads could be designed better and better flowing.

The sheer size of the fair and the variety of offerings, in exhibits, food/merchandise and the farm demonstrations make it a must do.

We went to the market for the first time in early Sept. The market opens very early, but we didn't go until about 11. There was free parking and after a couple of times around we found a place near the entrance. There was about every vegetable you can imagine plus fruits in season. Snacks included fresh donuts, fried bread, and kettle corn to name a few. Flowers and especially huge and beautiful sunflowers. There were baked goods, jams and jelly and even Queen Ann's Lace jelly.
A fun way to spend a Saturday and it is just a couple of blocks off RT 81.

Great little place to see some good theater. Been there a few times over the years - and most recently there for what seemed to have been an SU production. It was great and solid and would recommend. Parking is a little tricky, but it all worked out. Syracuse in general seems to have plays that are sometimes tested here before Broadway and other cities. This and other theater venues are solid.

We visited the Onondaga Historical Museum on Saturday afternoon because we needed something to do for an hour in between lunch and a show at the Landmark Theater. What a pleasant surprise! The displays were very good and interesting and I would have liked more time. The suggested donation was $3 per person, a bargain. The bathrooms were clean. There is a store with interesting merchandise.

The theater is beautiful inside. We sat in the balcony, it is hard to understand the words, I suppose this would be much better with a close seat but that is usually not realistic. There is very little leg room, I had to sit a little sideways and I am only 5 foot 10. The production was absolutely wonderful. We went for a Saturday matinee, in my opinion you have to pay for parking but there are plenty of surface lots and garages within close walking distance, we parked at a surface lot 3 blocks away. It was not bad traffic leaving after the show. We would certainly see more shows at the Landmark Theater.

Lot's of fun walking around and seeing all the different items for sale. Basically an enhanced farmers market, that goes out beyond fruits and vegetables, although they had plenty of that as well. All the produce looked top notch. We bough several items even though we had to drive for two days to get home. Everything was so much nicer than at home.

We drove 3 hours for our first time here to see Boyz II Men. This fair is very large. We also got to see Chubby Checker, which was fun. There are a lot of vendors and the prices are very reasonable. I LOVED the pineapple/raspberry frozen treat near the midway. It was very very hot, so we appreciated the free shuttle. We will definitely be back.

We've visited the Rose Garden many times in the early summer and later & it's always a pleasure. The gardeners make certain that there are a variety of roses in bloom through the early Fall but the best time is when the climbing roses are in bloom. Spectacular! Thank you for caring for such a beautiful greenspace.

The total is a **, so don’t expect more. But you are not too far from downtown and not far either for the baseball stadium, which was the purpose of our trip.
