What travelers are saying
- Joanna LGloucester, UK10 contributionsIt’s a lovely beach with soft sand and some great waves. The lifeguard was there for few hours during the day, always check the flags system, which I think works very well. Waves were amazing depending on the time of the day. Highly recommended to go for a walk or sunbathing.Written February 17, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BannedDESan Francisco, California6,540 contributions6 Euros to enter, then 1 Euro for 30 second rinse in the showers. The building area is sheletered from the wind so the warmest place. Even inside the rater its VERY windy. These islands are not World famous for windsurfing without reason! My town San Francisco is the windiest in the US but it has calm days, NOT SO Cabo Verde in winter. A calm day means 15 knots or under.Written January 22, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TLL48Spalding, UK1,337 contributionsThe best out of the experience is knowing the good work that this young team are doing in preserving the continuity of turtle population in Cape Verde. We were very impressed with this, which led us to wanting to contribute.
As for the experience itself, the talk is very informative and you’ll get to see baby turtles, which is very endearing. Good to understand the types of turtles seen on the islands, and that the Loggerhead is the only one that breeds on Sal and keeps on returning year after year.

- Chris GCambridge, UK7 contributionsThis is more of a menagerie than a garden but it is a sheltered place for a stroll and the ice cream is excellent!

- MrMrsHappyRLiverpool, UK1,497 contributionsAlthough we came at the wrong time to see the eye of Buracina (which is when the sun is directly overrated), there are spectacular views of the coastline with various different boardwalks and you can see the waves crashing onto the rocks.Written November 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris_KOKoblenz, Germany3,750 contributionsModern and large casino next to the Hilton Hotel, which you wouldn't necessarily expect in Cabo Verde. In addition to numerous slot machines, there is blackjack, poker and roulette. Poker tournaments take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 p.m. (No Limit Hold'em, buy-in €50). There doesn't seem to be a dress code. Prices for drinks are quite high, €4 for a small beer.Written March 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - woodie49Brighton, UK1,024 contributionsLovely Church on the main street between taxis and beach. - Scott GWashington DC, DC447 contributionsMy tour of the island stopped here; for a small fee you can go to the salt pan and swim/float around. I wore my bathing suit under my clothes; bring a towel. It's cool to feel yourself floating in the water, almost whether you wan to or not. The salt stays on you, leaving my suit with a fine layer of grit. It's a good experience suitable for people of most ages. Afterwards you can walk up a dirt "path" to the top of the mine and have a great view of the salt pans on one side and the desert on the other.Written January 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
