It was a great boat trip to the monasteries and walking through the beautiful streets of Bahirdar with enough explanations of places including historical ones. The sunset spots were super!

Here is a way of living that is maybe 30 years ahead of its surrounding towns - equality of gender, religion, and class; education for all, equally; and socialistic, almost communistic, ways of working and trading. We were introduced to Awra Amba by its founder and then one of the community women took us on a tour. We saw the school and the library; the retirement building; the weaving workshops and the fields.
While I've selected one day tour, we were here for a half day, until lunchtime. It was Saturday, so there was no school and most of the workshops were closed up for the weekend.

Thanks to Addis, I had the opportunity to discover Ethiopia to its fullest. I met him in Bahir Dar, and organized a trip to Gondar, Simien Mountains, Aksum, Tigray churches and Danakil with him. The experience couldn't have been better.
Addis made always sure that the I was comfortable, and the trip was going well. He was permanently in contact with me, in case of any issues should occur. He was always super responsive and reliable.
I also think he offers very competitive prices for

Daniel is an excellent tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about Ethiopia and its people, Bahir Dar, Lake Tana, and the monasteries. He welcomes questions and is easy and fun to talk to. Book a tour with Daniel and you won't be disappointed. Thank you!

Tesfaye, who runs Ethio Paradise Tours from his office in Bahar Dar is an honest, dependable and genuine guy. His English is good, and that's always a great advantage. However there remains a huge cultural gap and what a Westerner may take for granted in regard to accommodation, transport etc. is not necessarily so from an Ethiopian point of view. I would caution everyone to go into detail about such things so that there are minimum problems and maximum enjoyment on the trip. Also be prepared for lots of tipping - the guides, the guards, the cook, the drivers will all be looking for tips. Tesfaye can arrange tailor-made trips for you but always ask for a detailed breakdown of the costs so that you know exactly what you're paying for. Sadly all Ethiopians think all westerners are extremely wealthy - I, for one, am not! Unfortunately when trekking in the Simiens I suffered from altitude sickness but was extremely well looked after and cared for and everything done to make things easier for me. So, yes, definitely use Tesfaye for your trips,
