Tesfaye, who runs Ethio Paradise Tours from his office in Bahar Dar is an honest, dependable and genuine guy. His English is good, and that's always a great advantage. However there remains a huge cultural gap and what a Westerner may take for granted in regard to accommodation, transport etc. is not necessarily so from an Ethiopian point of view. I would caution everyone to go into detail about such things so that there are minimum problems and maximum enjoyment on the trip. Also be prepared for lots of tipping - the guides, the guards, the cook, the drivers will all be looking for tips. Tesfaye can arrange tailor-made trips for you but always ask for a detailed breakdown of the costs so that you know exactly what you're paying for. Sadly all Ethiopians think all westerners are extremely wealthy - I, for one, am not! Unfortunately when trekking in the Simiens I suffered from altitude sickness but was extremely well looked after and cared for and everything done to make things easier for me. So, yes, definitely use Tesfaye for your trips,
