- Taimein S1 contributionWas a beautiful 65degree sunny day .have hiked the mountain a dozen times .all ways challenging at the top .no breaks this time .nice and cool n breezy 1:20 to the top a drink and bite to eat .quick nap in the sun hung at the top a couple hours and back down you could see 5 rows of mountains todayWritten May 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debbie TPawtucket, RI126 contributionsMillion dollar beach was smaller than we expected, but it was well maintained and nice. We enjoyed sitting in the beach and dipping our toes into the lake because unfortunately the heat wave had snapped and it was a bit too chilly to swim for us. The facilities were clean and the parking lot was good. On a plus side when you pay for your day parking pass, you can use it all day. After we went to the beach we left to clean up and then returned to the lot to park to go o. - The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳Long Island, NY16,135 contributionsA beautiful park in the heart of town in Lake George. There are walking paths down to the lake. Plenty of places to sit and relax plus a large amphitheater! There are concerts in the park on summer evenings. We were lucky to be there for a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band. A large turn out but plenty of seating.Written August 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- C-Pat21Rochester, NY154 contributionsWe've done this hike many times over the years and it is always a great choice. It isn't too long or too strenuous. We prefer to go from the east side, but both sides end up at the top. The top area is mostly rock and offers great views of the lake and other mountains nearby.Written August 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael CLatham, NY13 contributionsA nice hill for tubing overlooking Lake George. Easy to get to. Just follow the signs up the hill, inflate your tube and enjoy the ride. Might not be for the little kids because what goes down has to walk back up.Written February 4, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JvacationingRochester, NY10 contributionsWe had so much fun on this clean and well-maintained course. It had a lovely water feature down the middle. While it wasn’t eye-catching it was nice to play a course that was cared for. My teens loved it as well and the free ice-cream to end is a great touch.Written August 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 12Violet10 contributionsBeautiful ride and service. However they didn’t allow a phone pic on the trail which is the best part for Insta , so no tip for them. $160 yet not allowed to keep the memory, not my thing.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AKFassoNew York City, NY30 contributionsWe booked a very last minute trip to Lake George at the end of September 2020 and were scrambling to find a bike rental shop near our campground (Lake George RV Park). A quick Google search led us to Beach Road Bait & Tackle. After a friendly phone call with the owner (I presumed), we were told that due to our traveling during a low-tourism week, we could just show up whenever and scoop up two bikes. No reservations needed.
From Lake George RV Park, we walked the Warren County Bikeway for 5 miles and arrived at Beach Road Bait & Tackle. The location was abiding by COVID-19 rules and allowed only a few people in the shop at a time. They had social distancing indicators in place and a plastic shield around the register. We were helped by a gentleman behind the counter within minutes who set us up with two rad TREK mountain bikes -- one of which he said used to be his own bike!
The bikes had small scuffs -- not unexpected -- but they were completely tuned up, inspected and ready to use. Helmets were included with the rental, as was a bike lock. We reserved the bikes for 3 days and enjoyed several trips on the Warren County Bikeway.
I would highly recommend this location for bike rentals! Reasonably priced and excellent customer service.
If I could make a suggestion to the company, it would be to offer delivery/pickup service for the bikes. We did not have a vehicle with us (other than our motorhome with no bike racks) and were told we could not put it into the trunk or undercarriage compartments in an effort to avoid damage to the bikes (understandable). This could have saved us the 5 mile walk to the shop to get the bikes in the first place.Written September 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
