- Paul SAlice Springs, Australia229 contributionsThis was our first NP in Madagascar. We were staying just on the boundary of the park so getting here was a short 2min walk, which did mean we missed out on the pirogue ride in . As with all NP in Madagascar guide are compulsory but easily arranged by hotels. The park is quite scenic in places, and other it is paths through the forest. Saw a lot of lemurs, a boa and small chameleon. Our guide parked us at a waterfall that we had to ourselves for 20mins whilst he disappeared to help other guides. Definitely worth visiting if you are staying on Nosey Be.Written January 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Judy KActon, MA82 contributionsMy adult daughter and I took 3 excellent day-tours with Fossa Travel. Elio was our gouide for all of them since he speaks English. Sakatia is not far from the west coast of Nosy Be where our hotel Ravinstara is. For this tour, the boat came to the beach of our htel - how very convenient. When we arrived at Sakatia, we snorkeled off the boat, first in an area called the turtle pool. It is a place that turtles are often seen and we were also lucky. We followed one for a little while and then turned back a found two others that we watched eating. Later the boat took us to another area for snorkeling where we saw pretty fish, giant clams, anemones and a lot of dead coral. I think it is like this worldwide because of global warming. It is very sad. But we enjoyed what was alive and enjoyed the snorkeling more than on Tanikely.
Lunch was excellent. Freshly grilled fish, BBQ shrimp and zebu, coconut rice and fresh salad and fresh fruit for dessert.
We took a walk to the local village with Elio and bought a hat from one of the many vendors along the beach.

- Thomas GAmsterdam, The Netherlands1,876 contributionsMont Passot is a bit far from most activities in Nosy Be but the view is fantastic. The hike is only 5 minutes easy up and you have 3 decks where you can see almost the entire island, which is amazing. Overall it will take 30 minutes.Written February 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ToneLien2017Lier Municipality, Norway46 contributionsMy 14 year old doughter and I did 2 ridig trips - which was great. The horses seems to be well taken care of and the ranch looks good. We had a young man as our guide - not english speaking unfortunately, but we managed to communicate anyway. Great area to ride in - and we got great views from the mountain top. The trip ended with galopping on the beach - and then -
Highlight : Going into the sea and swimming with the horses !

- James W4 contributionsWe had high hopes for this beach. As many people had told us it was the best beach in Nosy Be. Unfortunately we did not agree. The main reason for this is the lack of marine life and coral. Also some of the beach is private and you cannot walk. If you are here for a paddle in the water & talk with the locals and some rather pricey but good quality food then this is your place. But the only fish you will see will be on your plate.Written May 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon M20 contributionsThe reviews here made me laugh. Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world and most of it’s people live in abject poverty, of course they hustle a bit when they see people that are packing £1000 phones. I was approached by a lovely young lad called Stephen who guided me to the cascade. Not needed but I travel alone and he took photos for me, yes, I still have my phone. I ended up giving him 2000 Ariary (less than half a euro)!!. He was delighted. We chatted a lot despite my poor French and learned a little about each other.
Rant over, the cascade was very cool. I walked from the main road, took about 50 mins, not arduous. Just beware there is a right turn that’s not signposted so just keep asking the locals so you don’t miss it. There is a 10,000 entry fee. The pool wasn’t crystal clear but very nice and I had a good swim. I had the place to myself. Waterfall pools are rarely clear (I’m a bit of a W/F nut), I can’t believe I’m having to say this, THE FALLING WATER DISTURBS THE SEDIMENT AND IT GETS A LITTLE CLOUDY!!
I went after a long period of heavy rain which may have pimped it up a bit and it may be different after a period of no rain, I don’t know.
In conclusion, it’s no Victoria falls but if you want Victoria falls, go to Victoria falls!!
