We arrived party of 4 as we had been recommended by friends, but we had 1 person in the party who has coeliac and unfortunately the brewery couldn't offer any gluten free beers which was an absolute shame, so our party left but looked like a nice cool place to hang out...and the other beers looked good. Maybe in the future they might consider gluten free beer 🙂

The East End Seaport Maritime Museum is a small museum but Tracy the curator gave a fabulous informative tour. We learned the history of the building, the area and Bug Light Lighthouse. A lighthouse lamp is on display to view.

We drove here from Woodbury to see this work of Phillip Johnson, following noteworthy architects. Unfortunately it was closed but the exterior was dramatic with seven rectangles forming the synagogue facade, each punctuated with 23 narrow stained glass windows, then a bold circular entry.
Beautiful building in a lush suburban landscape.

I have been “nerding” out about going in this thing for years. Every time I would head out it was closed or no one was around to operate it. I finally got to go in and found it fascinating. The lens can be moved around by the operator and table moved up and down for focus. The children loved it as well. I wish the town would put a sign outside of it about what it is and who to contact to get in. It needs at least a seasonal person to run it, I feel bad that someone has to be chased down to run it.

I went here with my son and it is a really neat shop with all the old-school equipment. It is very similar to blacksmith shops you'll see in Historic Jamestown or Colonial Williamsburg, with the exception that the products here are for sale or the blacksmith can make customer products.

The reason for the 4 stars is that if there is a crowd, then the individualized experience does not happen. When my son and I were there the blacksmith was very engaged with group of people. My son and I were interested in the general questions and answers but then a more personal conversation was struck. At that point we felt like we were invading and our only real option was to leave. This is not to the fault of the blacksmith, he is doing his job. But if you arrive at the wrong time, you may not get the intimate experience others had.

Overall, I do recommend a visit, it's a neat shop.

Our sunset cruise was a birthday gift from my bother and his wife for my husband Ted. He was an avid sailor and raced as assortment of boats before the kids came along. Passionate about sailing, this was the perfect gift!

Whether you are a sailor or not, Hannah and Eric are the consummate hosts and provided interesting stories of the local sights we passed on our sail. Hannah took our picnic provisions and presented it in an absolutely stunning way!

The SURPRISE is a gorgeous boat, meticulously clean and very comfortable.

I highly recommend East End Charters!

We were so lucky to have found Wine Tour New York. I had family visiting from overseas. "Shopping" around for a tour company to visit the wineries was exhausting, lots of options, and I must say we couldn't have been happier to have decided on our tour with Tammy. She has great relationships with many of the wineries in the area. So when we showed up for the visits with her, it was obvious we were getting personalized attention from the owners of the wineries.

We visited one where the owner is Chilean, and he has the vineyard in the North Fork as well as a vineyard in Chile. He was in NY for the harvest this year. He personally gave us a tour, took us to the cellar, we tasted wine directly from the wine barrels that were being aged... and learned so much from the wine making process, the grape varieties, climate, soil, and off course, got to taste quite a few different wines, including some very special ones (the Meritage!!). The same personalized attention was given to us at the other 2 spots we stopped at, all thanks to Tammy's rapport with the wineries.

She took us to a restaurant for lunch, which was fantastic: delicious food (and huge portions!). She even had a surprise birthday cake for me :-)

Instead of visiting a 4th vineyard, we asked if we could stop by a local beach for the sunset. She took us to the most amazing spot, we saw the sunset whilst sharing stories and reminiscing on our great day.

Do not let the "lower" price of the other tours fool you. Tammy's tour has everything included (tastings, visits, wineries tours, lunch, tips...) -- where other companies don't. We did see other tour groups at the vineyards we visited, and they were groups of 12-20 people, it looked like an impersonal experience, especially compared to the VIP treatment we got at every place we went.

The day after, we did stop at Sparkling Pointe on our own, and I am glad we didn't stop at such a big winery during our tour, as the large wineries basically run themselves as a money making business: wait to be seated, waiter comes, pours tastings, then gives you a menu to buy bottles to take home, very matter of fact and no personal attention is given. Don't get me wrong, Sparkling Pointe is beautiful, but they have SO MANY PEOPLE stopping in that they really are like a factory bringing people in and turning over tables as often and as fast as they can.

We can't wait for our next tour with Tammy - thank you for the unforgettable experience, it was the highlight of my parents' visit to the USA! And one of our favorite days ever in Long Island!

I am giving this a higher rating than I think it deserves. I have been on many wines tours both in the U.S. and Europe, and I was disappointed by this one. First I did not feel like the driver knew the area or how to get to any of the vineyards. He was constantly looking down at his phone for directions, which made me nervous he was not watching the road. Also, our third vineyard that we supposedly had a reservation at was closed for a private event. So, we had to find another vineyard to go to quickly. The driver was also not very talkative, told us nothing about the area and did not seem skilled at serving as a picture taker for me and my friends. HOWEVER, the area was gorgeous, the vineyards were amazing and fun and everyone in my party highly enjoyed themselves. I just don't think that NFWT really contributed to that positive experience; and especially not for what they charged.
