This museum is FABULOUS. It is huge! I spent 3 hours in the history section alone. They have live glass blowing demonstrations and other demonstrations. In fact, there is so much to see that the ticket price includes a second day. So worth the trip!! I'll be back!

Visiting the wineries. Made it to about 25 wineries in 2 days—Some good—some not-so-good! Wide variety of wineries.

Absolutely recommend this for anyone visiting the area. Our tour guide Carolyn was wonderful and so engaging for my young daughters. They absolutely loved it and learned so much from her. She answered all their questions about life back then and was so friendly. We toured the Inn and schoolhouse. We will be back again!!

Corning overall holds many beautiful sights, and the Gaffer District (often known simply as "Market Street" by the surrounding locals), goes from pretty to absolutely spectacular for Independence Day and especially for Christmas festivities. Can't miss out!

This small museum - which you can attend with a combination ticket with the glass museum - is better than you'd expect given its size. The western-themed exhibits on the top floor have a number of truly world-class pieces you will recognize. The museum also provides exhibit space for local kids, which is nice to see. Parking was across the street, but did cost a small amount of money.

This small, independent - two screen theater had the benefit of being open for Thanksgiving, and we saw the new Hunger Games film here. The theater itself is kind of an awkward pair of small rooms on the second floor of a shared building, with a small convenience stand in front. The sound between the two theaters can bleed into one another. I appreciate independent theaters, though this one hasn't gotten some of the more extravagant updates that are becoming standard. Its a nice option for the neighborhood, but probably not worth a special trip.

I like this airport because it is easy to get to and park. The best thing about it the size. Yes, it is small but very simple to go through. They are very vigilant about security but, because of its size, you don't have the lines. It has limited destinations (direct) but you can travel anywhere as long as you can get to a major airport. It is also clean.

I've taken two classes with him now, and will absolutely come take more -- his teaching is wonderful, and he is adaptable to whatever project you have your heart set on completing. He stayed with us *five hours* after class had ended so that we could finish our work before heading home one night! If you've ever had an interest in stained glass, I highly recommend checking this out - it's not too expensive, and considering that you come away with your own beautiful stained glass, it's a steal. I had such a wonderful time!

Centerway Square is the heart of Corning. It is known as the gaffer district and is about 8 city blocks. In the center of the square is a clocktower built in 1883. The Centerway Walking bridge was built in 1921. You can walk across in from the square to the Corning Museum of Glass (CMofG). That bridge crosses the Chemung river. On one corner if the square is a building that used to be a bank. Another corner has the old Baron Steuben hotel which is now a visitors center and restaurant/ice cream parlor. Across the street is a bus stop for the CMofG shuttle which comes about every 10 or 15 minutes. Live music on some days on the stage. A short walking distance is a park. Table and chairs are in the square. People sit and have lunch, snacks, ice cream. My only complaint is way too much dog hair on the ground around the tables. Recommend have those areas blown off once or twice a week. Not appetizing when eating.

After visiting the Corning Museum of Glass I learned more about this tower. The little boys that used to have to blow the hot glass for the adults as they passed it off to them. This tower represents the history of glass and the industrial revolution that took place in the area. I enjoyed my visit here.

One stop on a brewery crawl in downtown Corning. Quiet on a summer weekday afternoon, but friendly staff and good beer.

Okay, from the outside, the place looks sketchy! But, there are some nice beers and staff is friendly. We did a tasting and took outside so we could sit with our dogs, very pleasant experience!

Attended services here while on vacation, loved the historical aspects of this old church. Beautiful stained glass windows and awesome organ playing and singing by the cantor.

With my friends, we do a lot of brewery crawls. I'm the lone whiskey drinker in the bunch. Four Fights was a great diversion for me. Their American Whiskey and Bourbon was very good. The owner recommended blending the two and it made them taste even better. Highly recommend.

I love this place. The owner is clearly a gifted merchandiser and everything is selected and displayed with an expert eye. With such an eclectic mix of items, it would be easy for things to start to look like a "junk shop" but Mint Velvet Vintage never does. I have bought a vintage Harris Tweed coat here and a huge industrial rusty chain (see what I mean by "eclectic"?). I am on a pretty tight budget, so unfortunately, I don't put my money where my mouth is much here because it is pricier than I would typically spend. But, I typically come away with ideas and inspiration and my budget intact...I guess I look for the diamonds "in the rough" and Mint Velvet has already uncovered them and brought them out of the rough for all to enjoy!
