I am not much into art galleries, but the Goddard videos and displays along with the Native American exhibit made it very enjoyable for me while my wife toured the art exhibits.

This was the highlight of my visit to Roswell. Amazing collection of works from the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program from the last several decades. You could spend hours here, there is so much to see. The staff are wonderful and are available to answer any questions you have. This is why you should visit Roswell, instead of all the UFO stuff.

This museum has a lot of exhibits about possible alien encounters, including the 1947 Roswell incident. It’s interesting and the exhibits are well-written, but it’s probably not for small kids because of the large amount of reading involved. There are a few kitschy alien mannequins as well. Overall worth an hour if you’re passing through. There are clean restrooms in the back, and a cool gift shop.

This was the best part of Roswell! The other places (sites of interest) were run down and old. The visitors center was fun…staff were kind and answered all questions and you got to take a free pic with some aliens. Overall, this was a highlight of Roswell!

This is a very well done cute experience. It's designed maybe for the tweens and younger, but us old fogeys like it too. I might even to it one more time.

This is a great state park about 15 miles southeast of Roswell, NM. We camped in the Lea Lake Recreation area. Nice quiet campground with camp hosts and rangers driving through constantly.

The park has a really nice picnic swimming area, hiking trails, a nature walk, camping areas both rustic and FHU, a small visitor center and for mountain bikers there is a 3 1/2 mile trail with lots of technical riding but no major inclines or declines. Might be challenging for inexperienced riders or young children. A must do for those who enjoy mountain biking.

Had a nice ambiance to it it and staff was very friendly. They were out of several wines but found other substitutions for us. Lunch was super busy and hard to find a place to park so avoid that time if just going to have some wine. They also had mixed drinks and cocktails so was a fun stop while in Roswell.

It had been a few years since we had visited here, and we were pleased to see that the road around the lake has been gravelled and it no longer is a one way drive!

We didn't see many birds at the visitors observance deck, but the birds around the lake were incredible. There were many places to pull off and walk. We saw many water birds, shore birds, including stilts and avocets, and one solitary white pelican soaring above us on the road around the lake. When walking along the road by the visitors center we saw quails, towhees, tanagers, warblers, hummingbirds etc.

We were here on a Sunday so the visitors center wasn't open, but we did read that there were pit toilets, but they were located at the far corner of the drive around the lake.

Definitely worth the stop here, and best of all it's free.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon touring this museum. Donna was the best tour guide. She is so knowledgeable and really brought the house and its history to life. Highly recommend if you’re into local history.

This was a fantastic stop!! They had a LARGE display of fully decorated doll houses shown styles fro the early 20th century to late in the century. There were some decorated for Christmas. They also had a display of villages like one might set up for Christmas, but it was being packed away for the summer. There were enough buildings still on display to rearrange on a large table to make 8 or 10 city blocks of a town! Then there were other complete dioramas in this style. There was a video running showing how to make doll house furnishings with a 3D printer. Best of all, there is no admission fee, but donations or gift shop purchases are greatly appreciated.

This was a nice zoo for a quick stop, not very big. They had some nice animals. The enclosures were a bit small and certainly not very nice with lots of room to roam or activities for the animals. The people we met were nice and it was a pretty location. Nice picnic tables and playground there as well. Worth a stop but would benefit from some updating.

Stopped in Roswell on my road trip through New Mexico. Walked around downtown and was impressed with how clean it was. If your big into aliens, you would enjoy this. Plenty of places nearby to eat at.

What a hidden gem. Even my hubby who has spent 75 years in these parts didn't know of this treasure. We arrived early and pretty much had the place to ourselves. It is by no means as big as the White Sands near Las Cruces but certainly a fun place to picnic and soak up some sun. It is a n OHV area but we were there on a weekday and never heard or saw one. The only other living thing we saw was a bull snake and he was laying in the road working on his tan!

We were really impressed with just how many birds were in this little park. The paths take you along a walkway, and then around the waters edge. There were many water birds, as well as warblers, finches, grossbeaks, and towhees. It is definitely worth stopping here if you are an avid birder!

    Talented and absolutely wonderful staff!

The gallery is pretty large, not huge but definitely larger and more full than many galleries I have been to. There was a lot to look at, with layers and layers of art.

Both staff members that day had their own art displayed, and both were extremely talented as well as very open and pleasent to talk to!

The gallery showcases local artists, and has classes, so I believe many more people, (even if they may feel a bit amatuer) can have a place to showcase their art. This means a lot to me since I recently lost a few very talent artists in the family who never did showcase their art publically, and just never knew how, despite being very talented. Anyway, if you are a local with art you may want to contact these people, and see if some time of the year you can get yours up there or partake in what they have going on some how because it all seems run with a lot of care, openness, and love, along with a love for all artists and different mediums.

The man who was there today painted with his wife, and his section had lovely realistic looking relections of sun on water, and landscapes from their world travels.

The woman who was there today had mixed medium using recycled wood and glass, plus paint and other mediums to make some very uplifting pieces of art.

If you are looking to decorate with Halloween pumpkins and need some more unique ideas this Oct, this is definitely the place to go as they have some really cool horseshoe pumpkins, some really lovely pumpkins on canvas for $25 (one was blue which was really pretty!) and a really cute/cool 3 piece pumpkin set of pumpkins painted onto wood chunks with cute little wooden pumpkin tops. But yeah hurry because the prices are decent and the stuff is super cute so it could disappear pretty fast.
