- AmericansportswriterWashington DC, DC311 contributionsThe 13-mile drive has many parking lots for close views of several different scenes of the mountains and deserts. The welcome center is outstanding and the view in the back is well worth it. It costs $20, but if you're 62+ they offer a one-year national parks seniors pass for $20 to enter that day and save for future visits to parks. The next day, I used it for free to enter Lake Mead that would have cost $25.Written September 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DiazideasLas Vegas, NV98 contributionsA great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Reminded me of some pond areas in Northern California. This was the best time to go right before it starts heating up, late April early May. My wife and I went for a brisk walk around the area which is well paved and a number of ways to map your hike. A few undulating pathway roads with plenty of waterfowl, bird watching, and a peacock with an alarming cry. It costs $6 to park as there are a number of historical buildings with site markers that explain them. There are a couple different parking areas so ask the attendant which way to go if you’re looking for a closer area to the lake or buildings. We got in free on Sunday before 2pm since there was a Farmers Market on that day. You can also reserve specific areas for BBQ’s, picnics, and there were a lot of people fishing in the lake as well. I heard it was well stocked. A nice place to visit. Check it out. Highly recommended!Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mumontour08Woking, England365 contributionsIt was good to find something like this in Las Vegas. The visitor centre was very informative and lovely and cool. There was one building with exhibits "outside" and I would have found a bit more signage helpful there.
Decent amount of parking, very nice restrooms and deliciously cool water to fill my water bottle - all for $3.Written October 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
