Beautiful natural area near one of the most unnatural cities on earth. RRC is a gorgeous place to spend some time hiking and visiting the Visitors Center. It was a highlight of our trip to LV. The center has informative and engaging displays and is well worth a stop. The scenery is unique and there are different trails for all levels of hikers. The driving loop has nice rest stops to take in the views for those who want to remain in the comfort of their air-conditioned cars.

I had a long amount of time to kill between checking out of my hotel and my flight home. I was looking for something outdoors, but not far away. This was perfect. You could spend a little time exploring a museum or walking a trail. Or you could pass hours exploring all the preserve has to offer. It’s a great contrast to the Strip and the usual Vegas tourist attractions. Plus, you’ll learn something about the history, flora and fauna.

I remember coming here many years ago, when in Vegas, and was sad to see that the penguins are no longer there. However, the flamingos were gorgeous, as well as the various other birds and fish, etc. that we saw. It's wild to think that they live in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip! Everyone enjoyed this stop and it's wonderful that it's free! Take a break off the strip and enjoy some nature.

The drought left its mark even here. It is a lovely park but sadly not nowadays. We however saw various birds and small wild live. Take your camera.

My family really enjoyed getting out and walking around this small refuge. The walking trails are easy for everyone in the family, and they were well maintained. This is a nice area to get out and stretch your legs.

My mom, my siblings and I were looking around for a reasonable place to see animals and stuff and we came across this beautiful place on the internet and it looked really cool , especially from reading all the reviews. As soon as we walked in the sanctuary it was nothing but absolutely amazing. The kids had a wonderful time. And they of course enjoyed the animals. There was seven of us kids from the ages of 3 months old to 21 yrs old, including my mom definitely enjoyed ourselves. And the weather was perfect and There's picnic areas where you can take your food in and just have the chickens running around you. Just absolutely amazing !!! HIGHLY RECCOMEDED

It was a beautiful hike, our guide Julio pointed out great sights and took us to some amazing views where you could see the whole city. The hike was not too easy and not too hard, it was perfect!

this is one of the point in the scenic drive, the first point is Calico I, the second point is Calico II, there are parking lots in both points, you can view the red rock at these 2 points, I post some photos here for you to take a look, so you have an idea what you will see in these points
