A photo can never truly capture the beauty of this place. The scenic road was a nice long and wandering path if I remember correctly. There are plenty of trails to explore, suitable for all ages, making it a fantastic place for family hikes and adventures. The scenic beauty and tranquility of the canyon provide a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle.

The visitor center staff was so engaging and were enthusiastic to share their knowledge and information. Inside was a typical visitor center….bathrooms, gift shop, and some information boards & displays. Outside was the tortoise sanctuary which is really worth your time, plus some beautiful gardens along the walkways. Aside from the sanctuary, you must also see the panoramic view from this location.

This time we visited the Caliornia section of Toiyabee National Forest. It has many scenic views. The area we visited was by Markleville. Fall colors were stunning.

when you drive through the one-way scenic drive in the Red rock canyon, there is a point you can park your car, and walk a short trail to see the Petroglyph wall, it should be at the #11, you need to drive a very short dirt road to get there. And the sign for the Petroglyph wall is very small, and not easy to be seen, we also need to ask people before we can find the tiny sign. But as the trail is short, and the rock has certain ancient drawings, it worthwhile to go to see it if you are in the Red rock canyon park.

This is the first pull-off on the 13-mile drive and affords a great view of the red rock formations that make up the area. A trail from this area that leads to Calico II, allowing you to get close to the rocks.
