Spiaggia di Mondello
#1 of 9 things to do in Mondello
Palermo is a wonderful eclectic mix - ancient culture and great operatic traditions - and it creates a buoyant and very happy family driven culture - everybody looks after their elderly mamma.
Crystal clear and warm sea, nice beaches, hot and sunny weather all week long, very nice and helpful people, great food, etc. Everything you need for a great family holiday!

The half dome of the central apse has a colossal half-length figure of Christ, with a seated Virgin and Child below; the other apses have full-length figures of St Peter and St Paul.

It is a great way to spend a few hours and children will like it.
This is a basic museum- come to see the exhibits, (no cafe no gift shop- in the piazza outside you can find coffees and gifts....) As a note it is not a 'amusement museum' for little kids, it's still worth a visit.
