My kids love this place as well, there's a park area out of the way WITH bathrooms and you can sometimes catch the turtles sunning too.
We always see some wildlife and the fresh air and nature is good for us.
Zorinsky Lake and Recreation Area Omaha 7.3 mi away

This park is huge and has just about everything you could want - fishing, boating, walking and bike trails, a water park, play grounds, picnic areas and huge sports fields --what a treasure to find!!!
You can have a party or reunion in one of the many pavilions, let your kids explore and play at the park, or just take a stroll on the beautiful paved trail that goes around the lake.

This park is well laid out and the animals are free roaming, each has there own part of the park and are gated, but there are large numbers of each species.
A great place to spend a couple of hours, drive thru, but take the walking hikes to really see some of the interesting parts of the park.

They also have archery, a splash park, horseback riding, easy trails to a wonderful waterfall, easy to do campfires, paddle boating, free recreation equipment rentals, and the fishing which I just mentioned.
Also, up at the west side by the cabins and new rv area is a trailhead that takes you to the west side of the park and you can follow it to the Platte river side.
