So glad we did the classic tour! It was phenomenal. I was worried about have my parents with me and the description makes it sound difficult, but they did fine. The hardest part is the hike up the hill to the entry.

Missouri Headwaters State Park is exactly what it says, the headwaters of the Missouri River. What's the controversy? Well, the United States Geological Survey says the Missouri states where the Jefferson and Madison Rivers merge. The Gallatin River 1/2 mile farther downstream is it's first tributary. But if you are from the area you claim that the Missouri isn't formed until the three rivers merge at the mouth of the Gallatin. Nice park, small scenic picnic area and lots of hiking. Remains or ruins of Gallatin City with the frame of the old hotel built in 1868 still standing. Lewis and Clark Expedition of Discovery camped here three days before heading up the Jefferson River.

On a sunny day the hiking trail gives a good place to burn off a few calories and enjoy the outdoors. The history of the activities from the past are somewhat disturbing. Seems like a violent way for native Americans to hunt buffalo.

on our way back to the hotel, we walked by the museum. It was very much worth a visit. The volunteers were hospitable and the museum was full of history. glad we stopped!

I trekked up the hill to get to the horses. It was inspiring to see what people can create... horses made of rope and metal. The gravel lot was easy to access, parking is about 75 yards away from the horses but be ready for a small steep hill if you want to get close to the horses.

Good local 9 hole course that is open before other courses and closes after others are closed as Three Forks gets quite a bit less snow than surrounding areas. Decent layout, carts available. Can be quite windy. Can be quite busy. Greens are sometimes not in the best shape but good considering the weather.

What a great experience. They did a great job talking us through what was going to happen. It is a little expensive but worth the once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is a good location for family/friends on the ground to take pictures from above. I highly recommend buying the video

I had the privilege of fly fishing two sections of the Missouri River with Superfly Outfitting over two days in June, 2014 and simply could not have had a better experience.

Luke is committed to providing a tremendous customer experience. From his boats and tackle, to arranging all the transportation to the quality home-cooked and packed food and drink, he makes you comfortable from the moment you get started for the day. I had not nymph fished many times from a drift boat, but once we were on the water, Luke provided excellent knowledge and advice right out of the gate yet kept it simple at the same time. And soon enough he was saying "Hit Em!" and we were busy catching rainbows and browns. I saw first-hand that Luke goes the extra mile to make sure you are having a good time. When a momentary but heavy rain shower set in on our first afternoon, Luke provided some extra rain pants he had stored away to keep me dry, comfortable and catching fish.

And just as importantly, I simply cannot imagine a guide having more knowledge of the river, and knowing both where and what the trout were feasting on, than Luke. Luke was a true professional, and his knowledge and experience on the water shows.

If you are planning a trip to Montana and looking to fish the Mighty Mo, be sure to give Superfly Outfitting a call. I recommend Luke's guide service and the excellent fishing experience he provides without reservation. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to return for years to come!
