Stopped here for a little slice of roadside Americana on the way out of glacier. A nice stop especially if one had young kids. Good family fun. The owner was a very nice guy to chat with.

This place is relatively small, and we did most of the slides in an hour. It was a great compromise for our kids who were sick of "mom's nature hikes" in Glacier National Park. We tried it two days in a row of the last hour at a super low price with no lines (had so much fun the first day that we went back the next day). They have slides for all ages from little kids to younger teens. I loved the big hot tub, as we went at the end of June when it was still chilly. I sat in the big hot tub -- or you could sit in the big grassy area-- and watched my family members come down the slides. So relaxing. Clean restrooms/changing areas.

Bad Rock Canyon is located in Hungry Horse along highway 2 between Kalispell and Glacier National Park. It is a river canyon, where the Flathead River flows through the valley and on to the Flathead Valley plain. It is called Bad Rock because of the frequent rock slides and the difficulty of putting a road through this area. At one time the road was so steep that a some points wagons had to be lower down a vertical drop on to another section of the road below. The BNSF railroad tracks are on the other side of the river. Originally this canyon served as a route for Plains native Americans to pass through the Rockies in search for buffalo. The Blackfeet used it as a trade route and there were battles here between tribes, and between Native Americans and settlers. The river is beautiful, with water features and a spring that is still used as a water supply. It is a dangerous stretch of road, prone to more accidents than average, so park at the very wide turnoff where the historical marker tells you all about the canyon and its history. Nice resting stop (no facilities).

This fountain is beautiful!! It is a simple pull off on your way to Glacier National Park from Columbia Falls. A must stop if you are traveling, but remember a couple empty bottles!! Fill them with the natural water, it is delicious and refreshing.

Although there is only one exhibit here, it is an example of a very unique steam locomotive. I work with some train buffs so I had to stop by and get some pictures for them.

This was a great place to browse and I purchased a neat old secretarial desk. Unfortunately they are no longer in business. North Fork Pizza is there now.

Saint Richard's Catholic Church, Whitefish is really attractive.

The cross is at the top of Saint Richard's Catholic Church panel.

Nearby are yellow flowers,Another cross is way higher than this one.

The church was built with orange bricks.

    They have beautiful stained-glass windows.

    They even have a bell.

This church was built in 1959.

    A must see!

    Wow!

Our snowshoeing trip to Glacier National Park was phenomenal! Rusty was a very educated and experienced guide. The lunch provided was from a local coffee shop and Rusty provided hot chocolate. Lunch was enjoyed by a waterfall. Rusty based the pace and trails off of our comfort level. We saw plenty of great views and wildlife throughout the trip. Overall, we highly recommend Glacier Adventure.

We rented a Wrangler for the week. On the second day a warning light appeared. The folks at Glacier Jeep Rental provided stellar customer service & immediately replaced the vehicle. This provided piece of mind as we were preparing to drive the GTTSR the next day. Easy rental & return experience. It was lots of fun to tool around in a Jeep with the top off…despite the heat. Kudos to the team at Glacier Jeep Rentals!

I don't have enough words to explain how incredible this place is. Garrett and his team led my Girl Scouts in a week-long program at the end of August and there wasn't one thing I can honestly complain about. Having such knowledgeable people to teach us about the environment in Glacier National Park was incredible. We loved all of the guides that led us, but Emme, Chloe, Anna, and Morgan will always be part of us. Thank you all for the incredible adventure. For those of you considering a program at the Glacier Institute, don't think twice. They are professional, welcoming, and experts in what they do. The cabins we stayed in were fantastic, and yet they are being gutted and remodeled for next season to make them even better. Garrett cooked for us every day and it was so great to have home-cooked meals that accommodated all of us (gluten-free, no red meat, no dairy). I give the Glacier Institue an A++. We will be back sooner than later!

The condos are all built backing onto to the golf course. Great output pool and rec center, plus huge hot tub. Golf course is very good. Rec centres has a large selection of movie DVDs. Also bicycles to use.

The place is quiet and never have had to deal with noisy neighbours. Beautiful flowers everywhere. Good beds and well equipped kitchens. only 5 minute drive from Columbia Falls with 24 hour grocery store right as you first enter Columbia Falls.

Has very nice second property to be used at Flathead Lake beach as day lodge. We always do the theatre at Big Fork when we go to the Lake. Kalispell and WhiteFish are close by. Glacier National Forest is close too.

We had the best time with Mark on the flathead river. The day started out windy, but it chilled out and we caught quite a few fish. Mark was a knowledgeable guide, gave us some great feedback, and was excellent company. We would absolutely love to fish with them again.

Station 8 is still our favorite place to shop in the entire Flathead Valley. It is a combo of unique items and vintage...all beautifully curated, neat and clean. There are home items as well as some Glacier area one-of-a-kind souvenirs. It is NOT a post card and tee shirt shop...its fun to walk through and see what all is new. It's great if you are hunting a special, unique item or gift.

The only thing that upsets us...is that Columbia Falls shops now add 3% tax to all items. Montana is a tax free state but towns like Whitefish and now Columbia Falls have started to add their own resort taxes. There are similar type shops in Bigfork, Kalispell Uptown and most all other Montana towns where they still do not add tax of any kind. Don't be surprised. We were shocked.
