Absolutely gorgeous and worth seeing! I’m visiting Bozeman from out of town and wanted to visit the Palisade Falls due to its close proximity to where we were staying. I took a small suv rental car and the drive was super easy and very scenic. The roads are now fully paved, and there’s one sign that indicates a left turn to get to the parking lot that leads to the trail. The trail itself is also fully paved, very accessible for strollers and easy to walk on. We weren’t prepared for the “bear country” signage and recommendation to bring bear spray, but we managed to start the trail at the same time as another group who had bear spray and they were gracious enough to let us walk with them to ease my mind. My 6 & 8 year old absolutely loved this short, easy hike. The views were incredible and the waterfall is gorgeous. My kids loved climbing the rocks to get closer to the water, and there’s a small cave area that we were also able to explore. We did this trail mid October, at 1pm in 75 degree weather and it was perfect, truly an unforgettable experience.

This little museum is a gem. Full of interesting information and lots of artifacts. Our family was amazed at the quality and variety of the content. We would definitely go back for another visit.

The shops are more high end than I was expecting but full of mountain gear if you are interested in that. You can find casual and athletic gear.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the three bears: Maggi, Bella, and Max. Unfortunately, we did not get to see Max (my reason for the four over a five).

This was our first Montana Ski experience and we will be back! What a treasure Bridger Bowl is. Friends of mine had told me it’s a “hidden gem” and isn’t that the truth! Bridger Bowl makes a Montana ski experience possible for big families. You get incredible mountain skiing experiences for a great price. So many options at the multiple chalets to eat and hang out. Great staff all around, everyone is friendly! Really fun skiing, excellent snow and well groomed runs, and plenty of options for all levels of skiers. We had 5 teenagers on the trip and they were highly satisfied and impressed, not always an easy accomplishment!

Our family of 6 had the most incredible time with Julia as our fearless guide! It was all of our first time white water rafting and it was the perfect amount of adventure, excitement and beauty. Seeing a bald eagle flying overhead at the start of our trip added to the amazing experience.

When I attended college in Bozeman in the early ‘70s, this building was a jail. Luckily I never spent a night there. Now it’s a history museum, and a good one at that. We had a guided interpretative tour, and Larry was extremely knowledgeable about local lore and history. A must see if you are in Bozeman.

The theater was having a “yard” sale in the back of the theater the day we flew into Bozeman. Since we love exploring, we took time to walk around the alley to go to the sale. We had a wonderful visit with the people who helped restore this old theater. My hometown recently restored an old movie theater so it was great to see this happening in other parts of the U.S.

This is a 1.2 mile (one way) gradual incline hike, well maintained trail. It’s well worth the hike to see Grotto falls. Not a big falls, not many people around. Cool canyon views and rock formations. Pack a lunch and enjoy it near Hyalite recreational area. Road leading to the trail is gravel and not a smooth ride.

We visited the Distillery on Christmas Eve and it was one of the few places open later in the afternoon (till 4-5pm). We did a taster flight which came with 4 samples of our choosing. The staff were helpful when making the selection. What we tasted was actually really nice and smooth, and we ended up buying some full-size bottles and some sample-size as gifts. Would highly recommend when in Bozeman.
