- Stefan VargaMalta431 contributionsBeautiful must do day tour, packed with lots of sights such as Fjords (we didn’t see much it was a totally foggy day but somehow it didn’t matter as it was very mystical and beautiful) toward the end of the cruise the skies opened and the view was beautiful, Flåms Railway was excellent too with a surprise toward the end. - John Gibbs11 contributionsTypically, at this time of the year Bergen is wet with low clouds. Even so, this fjord trip was spectacular with raging waterfalls and impressive scenery. - gavin cLincoln, UK17 contributionsWow!....visiting Stavanger on a cruise. Original trip booked with Cunard was cancelled,(no reason given). We went straight to the company on the quayside 500 m from ship. Signed up for first trip at 10 am...whilst sun still shining. This turned out to be a great decision as sunshine on Fjord cliffs at it's best. Axel was the Skipper/pilot and he was great fun from the start. V funny and informative and his rock music choices not half bad! Waterfalls, Pulpit Rock, tax evaders cave, great scenic sights. Magnificent views from start to finish. Fabulous fun on a very fast rib and warm due to wet suit and goggles. - Shane LEgham, UK1 contributionWe recently visited Haugesund and visited these guys, to say they were welcoming is an understatement.
They were professional,knowledgeable, entertaining and more importantly locals.
I would recommend a trip on the rib ride any time but be prepared for some air time on the waves and a few heavy bumps on the way down.
We had a great tour of the inlets/islands and even saw a sea eagle.
Obviously got a little wet ,part of the fun but suits and goggles provided did there job.

The views were incredible, both on the bus ride as well as on the boat tour through the fjords. - Trail329886511741 contributionThe whole winter Geiranger Tour from Ålesund was just perfect. We were so lucky with the weather and also seen hundreds (!) of pilot whales on our way to Geiranger. All of the staff were very kind and helpful.

The audio headsets are not always working probably due to radio coverage limitations on the boat. This is a shortcoming which should be improved. I went to Tripadviser when the hotel couldn't help us book anything, and went with the full private excursion. I received a call later directly from Bjorn saying that the full day wasn't possible because the lunch arrangements couldn't be managed, but we would be able to have the half-day excursion and would be refunded the difference. As mentioned in other reviews, the pickup and 1 hour travel worked well, the drop off with the walk to the train was fine, but the train back to Bergen was delayed by an hour due to mechanical issues, obviously not an expected occurrence. Warning - no available bathroom facilities at the train station!
The tour itself was the experience we wanted, beautiful views and tons of photos taken by Bjorn of us. As mentioned elsewhere, you should be aware that Bjorn is truly a guide, not just a captain. I will remember many of the stories told on this trip, fortunately my wife and I are not easily offended and we shared many laughs.
The overall review is that if you want an adventure and many stories to tell, the Zodiac is the way to go. The gear you are given to wear is perfect for keeping wind out. The boat was comfortable and fun to experience high speeds at times. Our guide, Thor, was informative and interesting to talk to.
