Beautiful drive this time of year on our way to Canada for fishing. Lots of tourists however and busy. We take this route annually and always stop for food in Twin Harbors.

Great View, fun to watch and look at. Kids enjoyed the drive over it and back and watching the ships going under it.

Our family grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota in the 1970's and 1980's. We would visit Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior three to five times a year. A lot has changed in that much time, so it was interesting seeing Duluth these many years later. The last time I was here was in 2005. The whole row of hotels along the lake didn't exist back in the 70's and 80's. The bridge and the canal seem to be the only things that remained the same. There were a few shops-stress on few-along Canal Park Drive. Now there are lots of them.
The things that are different aren't necessarily bad. Just different. There is a walkway along the lake that is nice. The shops are interesting. The mostly guys showing off their cars in the parking lot was new. A few sculptures have been added, and the Maritime Museum has been redesigned or remodeled. But it was still enjoyable to "take it all in," albeit somewhat nostalgic for me.
Didn't have time for the train museum. If you are into trains, it is one of the premiere ones in the country. It's located on the other side of the freeway from this location.
So...in Duluth, visit Canal Park for the tourist experience, and head across the bridge to see some of the beaches, check out the train museum, or the mansion, or the shops along Superior Street, maybe even visit the rose garden. There is a lot to see and do in Duluth.

Visited for the Holiday Tour and it was beautiful! Love that they have the elf hunt for the kids. Kept them engaged. The Congdon family, beying the infamous murderess, is an interesting group!

While staying at the Inn on Lake Superior, as I walked toward Lift Bridge I found the Visitor Center was open and offered free admission. I spent about 45 minutes exploring the Center, and fully appreciated the work that went into establishing the museum. The exhibits were well-developed and very interesting, with several that included video presentations. I found the Center to be a very informative way to spend time near Lift Bridge.

A really nice walk to take. Plenty of shops and restaurants at each end with lovely parks in-between. Bring a picnic lunch if you want and watch the ships and waves go by. Also, a clean bathroom to use. What more could you want.

Very nice little park to walk through and the tower is a gem. Don’t miss the great lookout in the park to the right when you walk around it. Stunning views, safe stairs to climb in tower. Toddler friendly. Well kept. Pretty good incline to walk to get to stairs of tower but paved, pulled a Dagon up it. Would recommend to anyone coming! Great job Duluth!

We were only here for a short while, but our time on the beach was lovely. We didn't swim as the water was too cold for us, but I really loved going in knee-deep and looking at all the rocks near the shore. We came in the later afternoon and the place appeared very empty, with only a few families nearby.

I came here for the rose garden. For a place that has a limited growing season, they have an impressive rose garden. There is even some variety, not all floribundas and grandifloras. One section was reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland since the only roses in that section were red and white.
    Small parking lot by restrooms.
It's a small park, but if you enjoy rose gardens, it's worth a stop.

First stop on our North Shore adventure and it was amazing! So much history, so much to see and do. There are three floors of exhibits including old machines and products and the bottom floor is all railroad. Learned a lot about the history from the exhibits and there are so many trains! You can even go into most of them and walk through them, both locomotives and rail cars of all types. You could spend anywhere from an hour to an afternoon here! The model trains were really cool, my son enjoyed the buttons to make them move, as well as the videos and the one that shows the dual drives in motion. Would love to come back and take a ride on one someday as well, as we heard they have tours you can book. Highly recommend this stop if you are in Duluth.

We last visited this aquarium about 10 years ago. It was not very good back then. There just wasn’t much to it.

We went back today, and thought it much improved. More exhibits, including some exotic ocean life. Also several touch tanks.

I felt it was definitely worth the cost this time around.
