SUPER! WE WERE TOTALLY AMAZED AT THE FORWARD THINKING OF THE STAFF AND ADMIN THAT FIRST CREATED THIS BEAUTIFUL STATE HOSPITAL! IN COMPARISON TO STORIES IVE HEARD ABOUT PONTIAC STATE HOSPITAL, FROM STAFF THAT WORKED THERE IN THE 1960s, TRAVERSE CITY WAS HUMANE AND CREATIVE. It was exciting to see the tunnels where all the maintenance and operation of this massive hospital occurred. And don't forget to visit the farm portion where THE STATE HOSPITAL'S famous cow is buried. It is also noteworthy that our tour guide grew up next to the state hospital and could give us a INSIDER overview of what it was like growing up around the hospital.

Ernest has a great personality give the man a raise! Christel is very sweet as well! The views and wine are both amazing. I rarely drink white wines but I enjoyed all of their whites as well as the reds!

The journey here took us past several wineries, which we'll visit later. It's worth the 15 mile drive from Traverse City to see this lighthouse. Nice view of the bay. Beach here is nice. Staff at the gift shop was nice and informative.

When you first drive in you see a wine cellar at the entrance. While I'm not a dry wine drinker, my wife is. While she enjoyed the wines, I had the chocolates and cheese sticks. The view of the east arm of Grand Traverse Bay was unparalleled. Beautiful building houses the winery.

Another nice winery on the peninsula. Bartender was friendly during our tasting. We enjoyed our wine tasting and took a bottle home with us. The store they had was stocked well with wines and wine related items.

This is a good park for viewing the waterfront, the city and the bay. Well-manicured grass and several boats docked in the harbor as well. Good place for a walk.

We were visiting TC for a couple days in early January and stopped in here for a couple drinks. Wine was really good and the cider was fantastic (ended up buying a growler of the Engle's Ransom). Service was excellent - we sat at the bar and talked to the staff the whole time. Great location, as you can explore other things in the Commons. Would certainly recommend it.
