Our kids and grandkids met up with us later the next evening at sunset and I immediately ran them down to check out the sunset and the grandkids loved walking the pier at night.
The park is immaculately clean of debris, very family friendly, and just a great place to spend the warm summer days.

Our family loves to walk out on the Ludington Breakwater to the lighthouse prior to sunset, at the time when the LMC Badger car ferry leaves for Manitowoc, WI.
Beautiful walk to see the sunset after dinner - the whole family had a nice enjoyable walk to see the lighthouse n burn some calories :)

Besides being the perfect introduction to Great Lakes maritime history for us and our kids, the experience of crossing Lake Michigan by ship was amazing, the views scenic, and the amusements on board very satisfying.
We enjoyed watching the crew but most importantly we were so impressed with their dedication to keeping us and our vehicles safe while also providing family entertainment for the trip.

The school, the doctors office, the general store, it was so unlike anything I had ever seen before, and the grand kids were mesmerized by the entire place, they loved it.
We've taken our children here (and come alone, too) several times.
