- Jeannie CManton, MI208 contributionsOur first visit was... interesting but that is solely on us. We were looking for an outdoor activity and weren't quite prepared. It was $7 an adult to enter, $6 age 55 up. We were given a map for trails and directed to the parking area and visitor center. Easy to navigate from lot to Center, offering ramp and steps. The dome area is slated for renovations soon. There's a children area and a rotating screen displayed coming events, camps, and a small gift shop inside, and a deck w seating outside. Re the trails: TRUST the difficulty ratings of the trails. We chose a more difficult route and missed a trail marker (or a few), we took a wrong turn and ended up a bit lost so it took longer than expected. Thankful for the benches! Will go again, but will be better prepared... and better watch the trail markings!Written April 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marklynashbrookBloomingdale, MI71 contributionsTook my Bride of 36 years here for a fall stroll through the park and had a wonderful time. Very peaceful and pleasant to walk and then sit on a bench and talk. Nice change for a date night.Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Frances D14 contributionsFriend and I come here regularly. The stretch from D Avenue to the Kalamazoo Nature Center is spectacular, winding through forest and into open meadow. From there south it's a bit boring and noisy as it runs close to the road.Written November 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patrick CMinneapolis, MN68 contributionsIt’s a really nice nature center. Lots of paths. Paths with different lengths and difficulties. The paths are nicely color coded to help you navigate.
And the more importantly the flora and fauna are super cool. Lovely birds. Nifty trees and plants. Wetlands, forests and meadows. Big ol snakes (which i looked up after my heart started beating again) which are not venomous.
Very educational partially if you’re not familiar with that part of Michigan. Lots of good signage to educate a person about the local environs.
Couple bummers…price is kind of steep for what you get…particularly on the day we went cause the actual park building was closed. But the staff & volunteers were friendly and helpful. Nature center was clean and I felt safe. So, good times for the most part.Written August 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
