What travelers are saying
- Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,564 contributionsOne of the popular places to go for sunset. Easy access and lots of people without getting crowded (laaarge beach). - Justin KWellesley, MA27 contributionsMy wife and I tried a different beach each day of our Summer vacation at the tip of the Cape. Herring Cove in Provincetown was the clear winner. Not only was the beach excellent, but the facilities were top notch - snack shack with real (and delicious food) run by Far Land on the Beach, as well as proper bathroom.
Runner up to Marconi in Wellfleet - amazing dunes!Written October 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Loads of things to see and do and "the street" to be in this town.Written September 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,564 contributionsSo apparently the first pilgrims landed in Provincetown before setting up camp in Plymouth and this tall monument is because of that. If you are not interested in history its well worth visiting for the view which is absolutely the best in Cape CodWritten September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Autumn MStamford, CT3,701 contributionsTake the long point shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. There aren't any facilities on the island, so bring plenty of water. It's a beautiful place to explore. Be careful of the poison ivy near the lighthouseWritten June 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Autumn MStamford, CT3,701 contributionsWe were pleasantly surprised with this library. The second floor has a cool interior boat. The kids section is fun with lots of books and play areas. There is building with big blocks or magnatilesWritten June 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Robert LProvincetown, Mass9 contributionsActually, us natives call it the jetty (as opposed to the Dike at Hatches Harbor). Wear comfortable shoes. Take heed as some of the granite blocks are tipped 45 degrees. A high tide can leave you stranded on the far side (you can always hike back along the beach). Bring a beach blanket, water, lunch and make a day of it on an almost-deserted beach on the south side. The views are unforgettable and your pictures will be worthy of a calendar.Written July 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EFW2014Woolwich, ME1,522 contributionsWe arrived to the wharf via the P-town ferry. Nice walk to get into town. Lots of charter boats along the way. There is a public bathroom at the end near the Bay State ferry.Written May 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David WRhinebeck, NY32 contributionsamazing. Dont miss it, but bring sun protection or avoid mid-day. The trails are not marked and there is no 'single path' but all paths go to the beach and the way back is very easy and clear.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mtmonadnckOrleans, MA63 contributionsThis is not a trail for beginners. There are a lot of hills and blind turns (you have to slow down). The visitor center is well worth seeing and a good spot to make the large loop around. Herring Cove is another good place to start but it's a ride to get to the main trail. You have to be cautious on this trail and don't go flying on down hills. Once you get to know the trail, you will enjoy it much more.Written January 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RICART75Peru, IN2,360 contributionsThough the building was not yet open when we visited; the surrounding area was well worth exploring. It provides yet another opportunity, to experience more of this magnificent coastal splendor.
Fortunately the Salt Pond Center was open (for which we did a separate TA review); and we were able to gather information/orientation from that wonderful location, and its helpful staff.Written June 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When we arrived (tough walk, btw, due to the sand!), we were met by volunteer Dan, who gave us a tour of the light, including access to the actual light room. His knowledge of the place was amazing, and it checked a bucket list item for one of us in the group--Dan's willingness to go over the details and give us special access made the trip out there amazing and super memorable. Such a great experience!Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
