It's very well organized especially their interactive "Amazing Butterflies" exhibit which walks kids through a life cycle of a butterflies in a maze format with questions and activities for the kids.
A world-class dinosaur collection, amazing gem collection, and the halls of Egyptology, Native Americans, and Polar World create a museum that has captivated me since I was a child.

Sprinkled throughout the museum are artifacts from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, which is delightful for parents like me who grew up with the show, and a delight for my kids who watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.
The Children's museum is well thought out and interactive..There might be a little bottleneck at the entrance because of the really fun kid maze that was very busy but fun..the crafting area was plenty of fun too

The fountains in the middle are cool and seem to operate randomly and light up randomly, but they are beautiful to watch, and kids LOVE to watch and splash in these - a plus if you have younger kids.
But it was nice to watch for a while and go into the PPG bulding to get a cup of hot coffee and walk around looking at the gingerbread house display made by local schools and groups of kids.

Took my Wife and 2 small children to the zoo there, everything was clean and very neat, the animals looked healthy and fed, the zoo personal were very helpful to my children questions about the animals.
It is a great place to take your kids and enjoy the animals in a well cared for setting, while also allowing them a few areas to run and stretch their imaginations too!

She especially loved the penguins, as did most kids there - but the Christmas show, while intentionally a bit corny, was cool to see birds flying around and getting a bit close and personal to the people.
Located across the river behind PNC Park and near the Children's Museum, the Aviary is a great outing for those who love birds or families with children.
