Always something interesting going on and if you need a gift there is your place for real nice and varied ones made by local artists.

My husband and I took advantage of the first low-humidity-sunny-day-in-the-time-of-covid and left the Annapolis area for a Sunday drive and walk. We wound up at Union Mills and it was a wonderful visit. We've visited lots - and I do mean lots-of historic landmarks in our time, and were enchanted by this place. The house is closed because of covid but the mill tour was open - and it was the first commercial mill we've been to in Maryland - except for Wye Mills on the eastern shore. The docent was fabulous - he was involved in the Mill's restoration in the 1980's, became a Williamsburg interpreter, and has now moved back in his retirement to run the mill. We assumed that a mill dating to the 18th century was not operational - what a nice surprise to find that they still grind wheat and corn and to see those wheels turn.
They are covid prepared, hand sanitizer everywhere and masks required. And lovely respite.

Family fun all day. You can pick your own apples, peaches, strawberries, and other fruits, in the fall pick a pumpkin.then visit the market and buy cooked goodies from donuts to jams. After, take your younger kids to the petting zoo. Be prepared for fun, but also lines. They are crowded but very efficient. Also, bring cash they do nit take credit card except in the market.

This is a beautiful church on the outside
We visited on Saturday so the historic building wasn't open. I wish we would have been in town on Sunday to attend morning services and see the inside, but we could not. Perhaps people can call a few days ahead and request a tour.
