Pine Point Beach

I grew up in Scarborough Maine so I must say I have a bias but where on the Northeast Coast can you walk beautiful sandy beaches for miles and hardly see any large crowds.
Beaches are pristine and a perfect place to bring the grandchildren, babies to teens!
Higgins Beach

All winter it is a popular spot for surfers at high and mid-tides, and paddle boarders find the rising swells off shore just as pleasing, It is one of the most popular beaches in warm weather and often is more cro...
This beach is one of Maine's Famous beaches in the summer and throughout the year dependent on the activity, you are looking to do.
Scarborough Beach State Park

Yes, it's an ever changing landscape, as is often the case with beaches that experience extremely high and low tides and aggressive currents.
There is sometimes a line waiting for the beach to open; if you get there late on a crowded day, it's a bit of a hike down to the beach if you have a lot of "stuff."

... Bay, we most enjoyed seeing Fort Gorges at sunset and under a full moon, getting on-water views of lighthouses, touring several islands in the occasional fog, and the walking island beaches in the frequent sun.
Cow island you can camp on (w/ reservations), Jewel is first come first serve, and there are several remote beaches worth checking out (my favorite is a small cove on Clapboard Island).

Most Maine beaches are rocky, but this little Gem is perfectly sandy.
I prefer state park beaches without the hustle bustle of tourism.
Willard Beach South Portland 6.5 mi away

The beach itself is rocky but nice for playing with sand, kids jumping in shallow water, taking a walk, relaxing and walking to the light house.
Flat safe beach with a great guarded swimming area. Not much parking nearby but a short walk from the main road.

Other dog beaches have small/untrained dogs who bark or jump or dont get along with others.
Although it was mostly white and brown pieces...I did find a few blues and a piece of sea pottery:)) It was a clean beach with a wonderful view of the ocean coming down to the parking area.
