Delighted to see so many Andrew Wyeths! Loved the Ashley Bryan exhibit! Worth a visit for sure and the Gift Shop is filled with beautiful things.

Walked out to the lighthouse on a gorgeous morning recently. Beautiful views while walking and once you reach the lighthouse. You really can’t see much of the lighthouse once you make the 7/8 of a mile trek. The granite blocks that make up the breakwater require you to look down most of the time and I’d recommend tennis shoes and caution if the walkway is wet. Fun, unique lighthouse.

To learn and appreciate nautical history. This museum is so much information perfectly displayed. You start w one single glass pane and you graduate thru nautical miles of history. I learned a great deal. Take the time, only a few blocks from Farnsworth. Enjoy the magnificent lighthouse displays.

My husband and I went on the last day of the festival this year. Admission was free and it was very crowded. We lucked out, but I can see where parking could be an issue if you aren’t able to walk very far. There was a lot going on here for the size of the event. There seemed to be a large variety of things for children and adults alike. The line for the boiled lobster was very long but moved fast. Knowing that we were having lobster for dinner, we opted for the shorter line which served steamed clams, chowder, and lobster bisque. The biggest problem we experienced at the festival was that there were not enough places to sit and eat based on the crowd that day. The steamed clams were very good though a bit gritty and full of crushed shell pieces. The chowder was quite good, but the bisque was so bad we threw it away (after paying $9 for a tiny bowl). I am handicapped and ride a mobility scooter and I found the festival to be very handicapped accessible. There were two large tents with crafts and other vendors, primarily selling Maine made products. Most of what we saw was very good quality and picked up a couple of small things. We did not do the rides and games, but with eating and looking at the vendors at a leisurely pace, we got through the whole thing in about an hour and a half. This is not enough of an event to make it the destination for a vacation, but it is a good stop on a trip to Maine if it is going on while you are there.

This is a worthwhile stop in Rockland. I Highly recommend watching the 20 minute documentary which provides a great overview of Puffins. There is a cute gift shop as well.

Very difficult to add anything to the comments of the previous reviewers. We were also lucky to walk in when Captain Jim Sharp was commencing a story and were still enthralled 90 minutes later. The only downside to Jim's enthusiasm for the museum is there are so many other exhibits that you might miss out on. I could certainly have spent more than 4 hours here and would recommend anyone with an interest in Maritime History to visit this museum as well as the Maine Lighthouse Museum which is also in Rockland.

A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. We went to Vinalhaven, a charming island town with history to spare.

While vacationing in the Camden/Rockland area I stopped by Jess to have some fresh lobster meat overnighted to a friend in Arizona. She is currently undergoing breast cancer treatment. It was a surprise for her. Her and her husband made lobster rolls. They loved the lobster. Super tasty and fresh.

For the holidays I think I’ll order some lobster for myself.

The staff was super friendly and helpful.

    Highly recommend!

I walked this well maintained trail twice during our 3 day holiday in the area. The view of the boats in the harbor and surrounding area was wonderful.

This museum was not only interesting but had such a cool exhibit of pieces of wood made to represent water. You could walk on the paths of wood/water. Not very expensive to get in and worth it.

This is a wonderful place for children to explore! There are many rooms and spaces with a great variety of activities including climbing structures, science and art exploration as well as make believe play. We became members and Olán to travel there again soon!

Great salty air. Birds (ducks, seagulls). Water, the movement of the water. Wind. Take a walkabout - bigger than first appears

We visited this small park again while walking along the Rockland Harbor trail. One can sit on one of the benches while admiring the beautiful sculpture and exceptional harbor view.

We stopped here to see the Zen Exhibit. The work was varied with a variety of mediums displayed. It was all spectacular! The owner was engaging, informative and helpful. If you’re into gardening, be sure to check out the Camperdown elm arbor as you approach the gallery.
