What travelers are saying
- JHAllenOro Valley, AZ412 contributionsThis is an outstanding collection of many forms of transportation excellently displayed with great descriptions of the collection. Primarily consisting of cars, it also has planes, horse drawn vehicles, trucks and bicycles. Many of them have been restored, but others have been left in their original condition which allows you to see the detailed construction. A must see for the aviation and automotive enthusiast.Written July 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- STPCamden, ME167 contributionsTypical Maine beach though the water is normally pretty cold here as it drops off into deep water fairly quickly. Being one of the few "sand beaches" in the area it gets very crowed in the warmer summer months and if you don't arrive early you will be regulated to the rock ledges on either side of the beach if you can find a parking spot.Written October 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LovesPhotoOpsHoover, AL919 contributionsWe parked in the gravel lot and walked the short wooded path to the bottom of the stairs leading to the lighthouse. There are great water views all around. Go through the gift shop to see the small museum. No fees for parking or admission. If you like cemeteries, stop for a moment to look at the few old headstones of the Merriman Cemetery on the side of the road leading to the parking lot.Written June 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alan0956Irvington, NY15 contributionsI spend an amazing flight with Dave. We flew up to a little over 5,000 ft, and cruised around trying to catch thermals. It's a two seat glider, just him and I, which is like totally cool. The glider has a 2 liter motor, with variable prop, and Dave, in addition to being the State Senator for the area, also has logged about 16,000 hrs, mostly with a career for Delta Airlines. Felt very safe through the whole thing. Guy know most everything and anything. Most of all, he knows how to read weather, clouds, and where the best winds are, for when he cuts the engine. You get a view of the area, that is another level of beauty. Well worth it. Though a senator, we didn't talk much politics...it was all about the area and flying.Written July 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
